my band director gave me the ATTSB music and has been telling me since last year (i didnt do it last year) that i had to do it this year cause he insists that i'll place really good and go to region (or something like that) and state i think. im good but the music is hard and im having some trouble with it. we work on it but i dont think i'll get it down in time. im really nervous and i dont think i'll place but hes so set on me doing really good that im not sure what to expect if i dont do as well as he's expecting and go to state. i dont know what to do. help? emo

eesh. Bad situation. But, if you practice a lot, you COULD make state. Anyhow, if you don't, what's gonna be the worst thing? Maybe your bd will be mad at you, but they have no right to be really, and can't like punish you. So just try to do as well as you can and if you don't make state, your bd just has to deal w/ it. His problem.

If your director thinks you have potential to make state, then suck it up and practice and when you make it you'll be really glad you did.

I've kinda been in this situation before.
Your director just thinks you can do really well, and doesn't want all your talent to be wasted. The music may be hard, but give it a try. You know what the worst possible thing to happen is? You mess up, the judges tell you what to improve, and you try again next year. Who knows, you may be WAY better than you think you are. You might regret it. c: Even if you don't make it in, you should try.
I've never been to Districts (which leads to going to State), but I really want to try (my director wants me to try, too). c: Everyone who's gone says it's scary, but really fun! c:
