OK, I am just curious, if you are currently watching any anime series, I would like to here about it, which ones, and if you like a bit about the series.
I can't DL anime like scads of others, but I DO buy and rent from both Greencine and Netflix anime so I can see many series that way.
Some of the anime series I am watching right now are:

Kyo Kara Maoh, I think only two disks have been released so far, so it will take me forever to finish this series as it is released more slowly than I would like. This is amazingly listed as a shojo series, but certainly has a lot of shounen-ai overtones, and it is very very funny. Anyone could laugh at the humor in this I think. Here is the description from ANN: (for clarity, a Maoh is basically a Demon Lord here)
Age rating: Teenagers (May contain bloody violence, bad language, nudity)
Genres: Adventure, Comedy, Fantasy, Shoujo

Plot Summary: Yuri Shibuya was living a pretty normal life. That changed the day he was dunked into a toilet after an attempt to save a classmate from a gang of bullies. Instead of just getting a good soaking, he's pulled in. The next thing he knows, he's in a world that vaguely resembles medieval Europe. If that's not odd enough, he's told that he is to be the next Maoh, just because he has black hair and black eyes. The Maoh is the King of the Mazoku, who are coexisting not-so-peacefully with the humans in this world. Much to his subject's dismay, he's totally different from the rulers they're accustomed to. He's kind, considerate, a believer in justice, and not willing to use violence to solve conflicts. Not exactly someone they want running a country on the very brink of war. Now, Yuri has to deal with trying to become a good Maoh, while at the same time attempting to adapt to this land's customs and culture, all in a world where the tension between the humans and Mazoku is reaching its peak.

Another anime I am currently watching is TeXhnolyze. I have only seen one disk so far as I am just started this series and so far I can't even decide if I like it, but it is fascinating in a bizarre way as well...dark and gritty and...stark and yet the animation is wonderful. The description from ANN is:
Age rating: Mature (May contain sex, drugs, and extreme graphic violence)
Genres: Drama, Psychological, Science Fiction

Plot Summary: In a man-made underground society, descendants of a banished generation vie for control of the crumbling city of Lux. Ichise, an orphan turned prize fighter, loses a leg and an arm to satisfy an enraged fight promoter. On the brink of death he is taken in by a young woman doctor and used as a guinea pig for the next evolution of Texhnolyze. With his new limbs, Ichise is taken under the wing of Oonishi, a powerful leader of Organ, an organization with some hold on Lux. As Ichise is drawn deeper into a war for territorial control of the city, he learns of his possible future from the young girl prophet Ran, who guides him from the shadows in his darkest times. With the explosion of the warfare, Ichise must uncover the truth about Lux and fight for his survival as he realizes his destiny.

Another anime series I am cutrrently watching although a old series is Robotech Macross. I never saw it before and so many people liked it I thought I should see it. It IS old, no two ways about it, but it is kinda cheesy in a fun way and hey, I will finish the series. I am watching this to get to Macross Plus which I heard was the best of the old Macross series, althought I skipped much of this long and many sequaled series.

I am also just starting Cromartie High School which at first I thought was so bizarre, I couldn't figure out why someone recomended it, but as I watched I became a bit hooked into it. It is very different and fun and by I think the 3rd short episode which was all about humming (really) I was laughing at the audacity and oddness. Here is a description from ANN:
Age rating: Teenagers (May contain bloody violence, bad language, nudity)
Genres: Comedy, Shounen

Plot Summary: Folks, meet Takashi Kamiyama. Enrolled at Cromartie High, where everybody is a delinquent, Kamiyama is apparently the only non-delinquent in the school. Logically, therefore, he must be the toughest in his class - by the rather twisted logic that only a really tough rabbit would lie down with lions. Thus begins a story that parodies every cliché ¯f tough-guy anime that you've ever heard of, and some you haven't. Oh, and Freddie Mercury is in it, too.

I am also rewatching again for about the 3rd time one of MY favorite animes ever, His and Her Circumstances. I am getting the manga for this one as well, which is called Kare Kano which is almost all released now Description:
Age rating: Teenagers (May contain bloody violence, bad language, nudity)
Genres: Comedy, Drama, Romance, Shoujo, Slice of Life

Plot Summary:
Yukino Miyazawa is really, really vain, and loves to hear people praise her. She's always been the best at everything, and always tries to look perfect. But when Yukino goes to high school, she's finally upstaged--by Souichiro Arima, who scores better on the entrance exams and instantly snatches the attention of the class. By accident, Arima finds out that Yukino is just pretending, and this starts off a series of events that lead to Yukino and Arima falling in love. They then have to cope with a lot of obstacles in their relationship.
Yukino Miyazawa, the Queen of Vanity, is the 'perfect student' - smart, pretty, athletic and has an overall nice personality. What everyone in her school didn't know was that behind the perfect facade lies a different person. She is always the best in anything - but an obstacle comes her way. The obstacle's name is Souichirou Arima. Souichirou Arima is chosen as the representative of the freshmen, not Miyazawa. Thus, she strives hard to defeat him in all aspects. But a day comes when her most-hated enemy comes to find out her secret. From treating Arima as an enemy, friendship blossoms. Soon love comes. Kare Kano is a story that revolves all around the pangs and beauty of first love.

I am also one disk away from finishing the series Banner of the Stars 2, I started this series on Tech TV with Crest of the Stars and then the first season of Banner of the Stars and liked it enough that I wanted to see more of it and now that it is G4 and not tech tv, I doubt they will continue with that series, so I am renting it. Description from ANN: (this summary will only make much sense I think if you know the story and characters from the first series)
Genres: Military, Romance, Science Fiction

Plot Summary: Due to a lack of ambassadors for the recently-conquered worlds the rapidly advancing fleet of the Bebaus brothers leave behind, Lafiel is appointed Territorial Ambassador of the planet Lobnas II. Upon arriving to the planet Jinto and Lafiel discovers that the planet was used by the United Mankind as a prison planet and now has a million prisoners on the only inhabited island. The prisoners are parted in three blocks. The western where women are housed, the eastern belongs to the men and the central is mixed under the restriction that all prisoners living there are sterilized. The women in the western sector wants to emigrate from the planet of fear for the men and when they do the men in the east rebels, overthrowing the guards and capturing Jinto to try to stop the emigration of the women. At the same time an enemy fleet heads toward the system forcing Lafiel to abandon Jinto.

I may be watching other besides which I just listed and I sometimes slip in a movie here and there in the midst of the series, I just saw My Neighbors the Yamadas and Kite as well as the New InuYasha movie. As you can see I am just starting many of these new series as I just finished a few series (Koi Kaze, ALL seven seasons of Ranma 1/2, and Sugar, a little Snow Fairy )

I would love to hear about what you all think of what you are watching!

If you mean "currently" this is a bit different I thought. This focuses on one topic, anime, where the other asks several things and doesn't really leave much discussion.
I certainly wasn't trying to step on toes, just trying to talk with people in this forum and get to know a bit more about those here.

I don't really see "Currently:" as a discussion thread.

And for an A/M/C based guild, we really don't talk about anime much. confused

But for myself... currently watching Pani Poni Dash!, Kamichu!, and trying to get back into Tsukuyomi ~Moon Phase~. Obviously, I am heavily biased towards comedy and extreme moemoe.

Banner of the Stars is one of my favorite series... I've got about half of the BotSIII OAV sitting on my desktop right now. Not sure why I haven't gotten around to finishing it yet.

Oh, Yeah, I forgot that I was watching the FMP:Fumoffu series as it releases as well. This is hysterically fun!

I like Mahoro a lot from when I saw that series too, cute girl in a maid outfit...
who doesn't love that?

And, thanks LCL for that, I was wondering if you all didn't really discuss anime here much. stressed

It looks like those of you who DO watch any anime at the moment pretty much Download it. I must say, I am quite envious, I think I am the last person on dial up!

I have heard nothing but good about Bleach, for those who are watching it, will it live up to the hype when I finally get to see it? I heard one person say it was the closest thing to the best anime ever. That seems like one heck of a recomendation.

So far 50 episodes have aired and the quality of the animation and story hasn't decreased at all. It's a great story and, with the current arc in the manga, it can only continue to get better.

I haven't really been following any anime series lately, 'cept for some stuff on Cartoon Network. Clara's not the kind to be throwin' money 'round for DVDs all the time, 'specially when she doesn't have none to be throwin' in the first place.

I did buy an X-Men comic book a few days ago, though. ninja

I'm not really watching anything right now. I'm more for reading manga. Right now I'm in the middle of a volume of Fruits Basket.
