I've heard in places that if you die in a dream, then you die in real life,
and as a variation when you have a falling dream if you hit you die.
However, I've died in dreams and I'm just fine.
In fact, last night, I had this dream where I was trying to cross this gap
about 4 stories up and I fell and died.
It wasn't like a *SPLAT*, pain, death either.
It was like *Faaalling* *Falling slows drastically* *Gently lays on ground* *Sits up* *Notices body is still on ground* *Realizes is dead*
It was calm and peaceful, and as I started to fall, I even thought "I'm going to die."
And there was another one where I was in this tidal wave and was smacked into a building from a long height, but it essentially went just as the above, and I died.
I really hope that's what real death is like, though. It was nice, peaceful, and happy :3 It really felt like a REAL death. It's so hard to explain, though.
It was an amazing feeling, though, falling through the air at a tremendous speed and then all of a sudden being gently laid down. I was even smiling in the dream. And I was still dreaming and asleep for a little while after my death, too, so it's not one of those where you wake up on/before imapct.

So, what are your thoughts on death, namely your own, in dreams?
Ever died in one? How?
Etc.

First of all, I will say that I have often died in my dreams. It's a common thing for me.

But before I get deep into my own dreams, I would like to make a few comments on your dream. I think the reason you died in your dream is because before the impact, you actually thought "I'm going to die." That most likely caused your subconscious to make it so that you died on impact instead of just getting up and walking away without a scratch, which is mostly the case in dreams. It's usually not until you think that you are going to die that it happens. I would also like to ask if you have the sense of touch in your dreams? Basically, can you feel things in your dreams?

Now, I will tell you a bit about my dreams. In the dreams where i die, it is so real that I am a emotional wreck. In one, the angels tried to take me away, but I kept crying and running from them. But that was one of my first dreams in which I died and I was fairly young. In another, I was stabbed and I felt the pain before dying. In that dream I was not as upset. I think I was angry for a bit, but I got over it quickly. I have had many dreams where I died, and I'm still fine too, so I know that you don't die in real life when you die in dreams. Otherwise I would be long gone.

Oh, your death dreams sound so violent, I'm so sorry ;_;

And yes, I do feel in my dreams.
Sometimes, like in the aforementioned cases, it can feel wonderful :3
But others, not so much >_< Similar to the ones you mentioned.

I have never died in a dream. While I have been eaten, I don't think I have died. I wonder if it's because I am unsure as to whether I even wish to die or not? I think I'll try that out tonight.

I continue having those dreams of being attacked by a white dragon that seems to want me dead. A couple of nights ago, however, it succeeded in killing me in a dream. I was waltzing around a cave with my black dragon (I seem to like exploring dangerous places, like tall trees and deep-sea caves), and the white dragon came out of nowhere and completely paralyzed the black dragon. I was defensless, to say the least. I tried to get out of the cave, but the white dragon got hold of my neck and completely removed my head from the rest of my body. Yeah... I woke up with a long scratch on my neck that was bleeding a bit. First time I've ever woken up BLEEDING from a dream wound, so I was a little freaked.

Actually, a few people have died from death in dreams, but that usually only occurs if said person has a strong connection to their own parallel universe self... Typically if half their soul is in this universe, and the other half in the one they dreamed of when they died.
