Very pretty. I'd like to get one, one day but I'm happy with my parrot, when she's not calling me a fart ( sweatdrop ). Hopefully in the future I'll get to get her a companion. =)

Beautiful. I saw one at the pet shop the other day, and scoffed at the price, I still want one though. I'll just have to find a private breeder.

Whiskey On A Sunday Beautiful. I saw one at the pet shop the other day, and scoffed at the price, I still want one though. I'll just have to find a private breeder. I live in Perth, Western Australia, so they're about $50 each here. But this guy was a rescue, and only cost me $20... biggrin
It took a lot of work to gain his trust, but he's really worth it.

It took a lot of work to gain his trust, but he's really worth it. $50? -dies- From what I can tell the average price in Florida is about $2000, I found a breeder that will sell me one of $1500 though, it's still a butt load of money.

I would assume its so cheap because Cockatoo are native to Australia. Most consider them a nuisance, and the populations of them are very high.

crazyleochic I fell in love with a congo African Gray at a pet shop a few months ago, he sat on my shoulder so cute and let me hug him and stuff lol. My husband said no tho sad I really want a bird my advice is to make sure you are a bird person. birds arent really pets so much as full time members of the family, they need to be out to interact with you for at least an hour per day and make alot of noises. my mother got birds when she was alive but we are stuck with them now. i love our birds but they will be the last ones i ever own besides maybe some finches someday.

Particularly true with African greys. They're so intelligent that it's basically like having a four-yeard old child. That's a serious commitment, and they can be messed up by improper training fairly easily. Start off with a less-demanding bird and work your way up to a Grey! sweatdrop That's definitely not a good choice for a first bird. They're lovely, though.
Igraine, what type is your cockatoo? I've seen ones with that coloration before, but not really around here. Her wings are beautiful, by the way. =D I love that picture where she has them outstretched.
