CREATIVE WRITING EXERCISE I will provide all beginning players with one word to build a short story around. As players complete a level, I will add on another word if you wish to continue to the next level. Each new word means a new story that contains the old and new words.Example Level 1: peach (write a story around the word peach) Level 2: border (write a story around the word border, and also include the word peach) Example If you're on level 1 or 2, you must write a minimum of 1 paragraph. If you are on level 3 or 4, you must write a minimum of 2 paragraphs. The cap on this rule is at level 10. If you continue past level 10, the minimum paragraphs will remain at 5. Example At level 5, you will receive 500g as a bonus. At level 10, you will receive 500g as a bonus. At level 15, you will receive 500g as a bonus. Example At level 4, you receive 400g. At level 5, you receive 500g and a bonus 500g. At level 6, you receive 500g. At level 9, you receive 500g. At level 10, you receive 500g and a bonus 500g. heart ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ heart

There were tears in Jade's eyes as she sat contemplating the photograph. It had slipped out of last year's journal this morning, as she was going through it looking for inspiration. They all looked so annoyed in that picture; It was the very last family portrait they'd taken, the last one they'd ever take together. Sure, they had a picture taken at the annual 4th of July gathering, but he wasn't in it... He'd never be in their family pictures again. She wished that he'd been smiling, that they'd all been smiling.
She propped the portrait up on her bedside table, and tossed herself backwards into the pillows. With an arm over her eyes to block out the light, Jade delved into her memories and pulled up all of the ones of him smiling openly. They were surprisingly few, but incredibly wonderful.
She wished that she'd been nicer, more open, earned a few more of those smiles. It might have helped them get over him. She wished that they could talk about him, but nobody would utter his name; It was as if he had never existed, as if they didn't have enough happy memories together to move on, so they kept silent in an effort to convince themselves that they'd have more chances. But they wouldn't... They'd all messed up, all been distant, and now they'd never get the chance to feel like a full family.
Jade threw a pillow across the room in a sudden burst of violence, and then smashed her face into the bottom one and cried.
In her mind's eye, she could still see that miserable family portrait, even through all the tears...
No more chances...
Never...
- Well written. Nicely worded for imagery and put together in a way where it's a little snippet yet it tells a lot about what has happened before this scene.

How long does it have to be? because to me, a short story is about 2500 words...
