So, I've been gathering pics of centaurs from around the web, and more or less all of them have something in common: A distinct, if not complete, lack of clothing. So, as a centaur will you be covering your extremities with cloth for appearance's sake, covering yourself with armour for practical purposes, or just trotting about in the buff?

Armor would be nice!

With the exception of armor, centaurs would have no need for clothing, they are much like Native Americans in some sense, as the beliefs about their bodies being natural and uncovered.

My character wears gloves and a top to keep from getting a chill.

I think centaurs don't particularly care for clothing if they are forest dwelling creatures. How many clothed wild wolves do you see? Nah, I think they accept that body parts are there, and perhaps attractive, by find no embarrassment in not wearing clothing. Plus, clothing takes a lot of time to make, and with little resources except for animal hides and types of metal, they probably would rather spend their time gathering food, building homes, or repairing things than bother with clothes.

I think centaurs would... Not care for clothing. It takes up resources, time, and space. I guess we either use nature or we run around in the nude.

Since everyone else gave logical answers I guess it's up to me to give a illogical one!

They don't wear clothes because when they run through the trees they get snaged on branches.

You all make good points but here's a thought:

What about the females? I mean jogging without support is quite painful, so I'm told.

What about a brisk canter?

Some form of retaining garment must be required, right?

Jogging without support is very painful. D:

Maybe Centaur women have evolved beyond the need for support! Or maybe they take it easy but slip into something when they need to run...

I always thought that they'd wear armor if they need it but...for the most part would run around in their natural state.

I haven't ever seen a centaur female picture with large breasts. The size that they're usually portrayed at can go without support, and if your raised that way, it doesn't hurt.
(I am large myself, so I do have to wear a bra all the time, but I have friends in the illustrated size range that don't.)

And actually, in the myths, I don't think a female centaur was ever mentioned.
Could be wrong.

Uhm...also, strongggg shoulder and back muscles mean you don't need garment support, and considering how centaurs live, they'd be well toned and strengthened, so...

I remember somewhere reading a long time ago that such mythical creatures in general would most likely have developed some muscles for support.

Anyway gaia really doesn't let you be nude avi wise but I would expect more to be nude then clothed. Clothing would have only spiritual or practical use. In some cases worn because it looked nice but not necessary.

Well most centaurs are pretty natural so they don't really need clothes to wear. On Gaia its different though, we all wear clothes usually but I try to not wear a shirt as most as I can now. XD

Me too! But more on topic, I'm suprised that in the human world more people aren't nudists. I mean really, clothes SUCK! But yeah, it's an avatar and without clothes it makes me look like I could just barely afford the potion. AND THATS NOT TRUE! So yeah, I be wearing awesome clothes as such. Just because I look kick a**.

I'd love to take you home with me and tuck you into bed,
I'd love to see what makes you tick inside your pretty head.

I don't mind being nude, with the exception of my chest. Seeing as it's publicly unacceptable for women to run around clothesless, but it's perfectly acceptable for female horses, I think it's best to simply follow the rules depending on which half of your body you're covering. ;o

I'd love to hear you laugh tonight, I'd love to hear you weep.
I'd love to listen to you while you're screaming in your sleep.
