Alot of people love to aurgue over this. So let see what this community thinks?
Metallica or Megadeth?

as of late...i'd have to say they are about even....back in the early 90's Metallica reigned supreme. But Due to the whole Napster controversy, along with the band's new Anti Alcohol policy, they've gotten a bit off the metal track. Mustaine, on the other hand, has kept consistant with his music over the past "20 years". And from what i hear, he is retiring this year, letting the new generation of metal come to the forefront, at least Mustaine is going out "on top" per-se.

i never liked mustine that much, but he does have a unique voise that cannot be matched, well, except for my friend lol smile

I'd have to choose Metallica, if only because I was a big fan during my angsty early-teen days.

i prefer Metallica Vocals over Megadeth, but then again Megadeth has Marty Friedman..enough said. domokun

i agree with the majority here. overall, metallica i'd have to say takes the cake. while Metallica's new stuff sucks and Megadeth's is actually half decent, that doesn't really make up for all the older music.

Megadeth's new album sucked i mean there where like two songs i liked and other then that it was a dark album for megadeath.

i dunno if metallica and megadeth are tryin to change with the music of today, but if they are, its not working. they both need to stay with their old style of music

Metallica's first 2 albums+ AJFA> Most of Deth's material.
Other then that though, definitely Megadeth> Metallica

I'm going to have to go with Megadeth. Though I do greatly enjoy Metallica's first three albums. I have to say that I enjoy Megadeth's first few releases [up to Countdown To Extinction] a lot more.

Early Megadeth > Megadeth disguised as Metallica
Later Megadeth > Metallica when it was actually Metallica.
Therefore, Megadeth wins.
I expect this poll to be a bit more even than it usually is in the metal forum, since most of the mallcore kiddies aren't here.

Probably about average. Compared to Metallica's newest, though...(and I'm only comparing since this is what the thread is about, before somebody tries to start s**t)
