Welllll, i just got back from band camp((technically it ended today, but we had to head home yesterday cause the place we use for band camp had this celebration thing today, so the last day of band camp was today.)) Anddd i never realized how much i hate it, but then again, i never realized how much i love it D:

Well, I just got done with my first week of band camp...I hate it when it's hot, and love it during lunch and dinner because I can go crazy then. xd And sectionals are always fun, our tech tells us stories about when she was in colorguard and other stuff. We get off-topic a lot. xd
It would be fun if it wasn't so hot outside, and if it wasn't so tiring...but it's okay. :]

Love it. My band camp is so much more relaxed than high school was, and we get so much more done. Plus we take over a campus near the mountains, so it's all nice and not-humid. Even better, I get to live with all my friends for 5 days, no school, no nothing, just band. Looove it biggrin

Band camp's awesome!
Since these past two summers our local bookstores were hosting midnight parties (Harry Potter and Breaking Dawn) we had band parties at midnight at the bookstore which consisted of:
At Harry Potter, our BD did NOT realize that we had the marching 'mob' as he called us that night, at the book store, and it got even funnier when we all pulled out our mouthpieces and started playing our show from the past year. And we marched part of it in the parking lot. Good times...
At Breaking Dawn, the 'mob' pulled together to embarass our former drum major by ALL of us wearing our old band t-shirts! (and we pulled the same stunt as we did with our BD XD)

I love band camp but i hate the heat. We just started last week and our field is being worked on so our marching field is a freagin parking lot

holy crap! Anyways band camp in other ways i hate because it get so freagin hot, i live in Texas, but the work really pays off at the first game and when UIL comes around. I'm hoping i get a spot this year >_<

I love band camp! I hated however, that 3 of the 5 days we were in a heat wave with a heat advisory throughout the whole week. eek It was brutal and after not marching for over a year (we didn't have enough people for a drumline last year, so we just had one giant pit haha), learning music AND drill again was harsh. It didn't help that we only JUST for the completed 1st movement the 2nd to last day of band camp after the band had had all the music for 2 months and that they completely changed the drill sheets too but over all it was amazing and I'm sooo excited for the season to start up!

And after watching Phantom practice, I have a whole new outlook and a whole 'nother respect for it.

i love everything about it.
i just hate the yelling and the embarassment for stupid mistakes. >_<
and the "cliques" for stupid reasons and people assuming things when you ask certain people for help.

Lori-chan-emolicious I love band camp but i hate the heat. We just started last week and our field is being worked on so our marching field is a freagin parking lot Our "practice field" is our student parking lot. We are always on the parking lot. The football team doesn't want us tearing up the field. It's stupid. We're almost done with band camp [thank god]. We've had 3 days of freshman camp [freshman, sophomores, and leadership] and so far, 6 days of regular camp. freshman camp was 8:00am to 2:00pm. regular camp is 8:00am until 6:00pm. outside most of the time. We just finished setting our 21st page of drill. That means we're done with the first movement!
