Childhood Returns
I’m like a child, so happy and free.
But as adult I’ll let it be.
Today explore, tomorrow rest.
Maybe I’ll find a treasure chest!
Oh, the possibilities!
The days are longer like golden keys
An underground tunnel to the feast,
Or maybe even to find Beauty and the Beast
Childhood memories fill my mind
How oddly awesome and oddly fine
Like movies I had once enjoyed,
Or maybe even not being paranoid!
So many thoughts come to me now,
How young I was, how soundly vowed,
Too much happiness for sad to come
It seems I’m like a man and drum
The movies so perfectly animated
A mood to change a child’s mind…
Those warm nights watching E.T.
On a very small tiny TV screen…
