In my dreams, I'm often able to change the setting, the people, and the events at will. Most of the time I'm aware I'm dreaming, but sometimes I'm not aware of it, yet I can still manipulate my dream to some extent. I was just wondering if a lot of other people are able to do this too.
Also, in my dreams, when I'm stabbed or something it actually hurts. Not always, but sometimes, I can feel the things that are happening to me in my dreams. I was wondering if this also happens to others. I think it's pretty normal, but I'm still curious.
So, do these things happen to anyone else?

Yeah, but I call that karma. Lol. Jk, Onyx. But that's good. So my subconscious isn't a masochist. Good to know. ^-^
How about the manipulation thing?

The awareness of the dream state and manipulation abilities are very normal. It's called a Lucid Dream, and you're very lucky to have them!
Feeling pain is also normal, imho. I always have all 5 senses in my dreams, including that of feeling pain and feeling as in emotions. So I don't think it's weird. A lot of other people can feel, too. ^_^
If you look in the Links sticky, there are some useful links about Lucid Dreaming, or you can google/wiki it, too :3
Happy Dreaming!

@Onyx: No it isn't. I think you're confusing me with you. stare Lol. 3nodding But yeah. I figured that happened to others as well. I just want to know to what extent. @Ablepsy: Yeah. I thought it was basically lucid dreaming, but the definition of lucid dreaming was never completely clear to me, so I may check out those links. ^-^ Thanks. But yeah. I know what you mean. I always have emotions in my dreams, but I think everyone does. I thought the five senses were common too. I was just wondering because people tell you about that pinch thing to know if you're dreaming, but I was thinking it wouldn't work for most people. Good to know though. ^-^ Lucid dreaming. That's good. It's very fun to manipulate and be able to feel because it's like your very own alternate reality. ^-^

I don't always feel in dreams, but sometimes I do and even wake up with the pain or other feelings I experience in the dream. As for manipulation, I have managed to manipulate someone's facial expression in a dream and do a few other things, but I don't seem to be able to change the location or time; they change on their own free will. It is really awesome that you can have dreams like that; congrats!

@Sweeneyslave: Yeah. I know what you mean. It's possible that our bodies feel those pains and other feelings first, and then they are incorporated into our dreams. But it's also possible that we are so caught in our dreams that when we wake up, we are still lingering between our subconscious and consciousness and we feel the remainder of the dream before it leaves. I guess it can be either one or perhaps both. It might be one situation for one dream and the other for another dream. I'm not sure. I know that once, when I was little, I heard my mom calling me to wake up, and her head appeared in place of the lion's head in my dream. And I heard her in my dream. Lol. So I have no doubts that things from the physical world can become incorporated into our dreams. Yeah. Sometimes, even when you aare aware of the fact you are dreaming, manipulating the dream to a certain extent is still difficult. Thanks. ^-^ It helps, when a dream gets too scary.

I usually have a limited control over my dreams, not much, and I can always feel emotions. Not sure about pain, though.

I see. That's cool. I think everyone has emotions, but I'm not sure. We should have a poll about that.

I've been having only half lucid dreams lately. >.< But one case was interesting. I read somewhere that staring at your palms before you go to bed helps you "wake up" in your dream when you see your palms and you will be aware that you are dreaming, basically creating a lucid dream. I don't know if this really works or not. But a few nights ago, I decided to try, just to see. So before I went to bed (not immediately before, but before nonetheless) I stared at my left palm. When I put my hand down, it was strange. I saw this sort of light in the shape of my palm lingering then it sort of hit me in my mind. I didn't really see it. It was more like feeling. Then, in the middle of my dream, I saw my palms when tackling this...um...witch (just a part of my dream). Again, I had the sensation of the light thing hitting me in the head and I suddenly remembered I was dreaming.
