(( Please note that this is a continuation of a roleplay me and Fishy were doing in the old guild, while the shop was closed.

The old roleplay can be found [ HERE ], for reference. ))

Yubikiri smirked to himself as he got an answer out of the trailing tiger behind him, glad that he was earning himself a bit of trust, even if it wasn't much. However, it never really occurred to the shadow cat whether or not Lexian had just given up hope of getting out of this forest, and if these words were just the ramblings of someone who had just given in to the predicament. This was probably caused by his fault in that he just... couldn't relate, in this particular situation. He was always so awful about that, walking in someone else's shoes, that he had all but forgotten "fear."

Nevertheless, Yu kept the conversation going, even if it ended up sounding snide. "Two hours? Good deal of time to get lost, that's for sure! Hey, honestly, I think that you've done pretty well out here with only those scribbles to guide you. In that amount of time, you could have been in even deeper in here." He was trying to get Lexian to look on the bright side, but if the boy had completely turned himself of to such gestures then Yu had no luck of getting anything but pessimism from him.

However, that thought hadn't had much time to materialize before Lexian tried to further the conversation, knocking a laugh out of the cat from out of the blue. It wasn't completely directed at the question but rather at the predicament, and it actually made Yu glad to hear him ask it, whether it sounded like it or not. "Naw, I don't live out here, you don't have to worry about that. Though... I suppose it wouldn't be too much of a bad thing if I did, eh?" he pondered aloud, tapping his bottom lip with an index finger thoughtfully as he continued moving. "I just like to come out here at night; it's so much more peaceful then what I have to deal with where I do live. That, and they got sick of me destroying so many pieces of furniture..." he grumbled, seeming to trail off. He didn't care to pause and think about how that sounded to someone else, and he didn't care to elaborate on the situation unless it was asked of him to elaborate. It didn't really bother him as it had sounded like, however; he was quite content where he was at the present.

Lexian glanced around them quietly as he listened to the other feline, his ears going back lightly, though swiveling as he caught sounds that came from the forest around him. There were reasons he hated such secluded areas, one of which was all the unknown noises around. In the city, the only time you'd get unknown noises is if you stumbled upon a crummy part of town or a dark alley, both of which he normally avoided.

Subconsciously he moved to trail closer to Yu, as he quietly looked around, though when he looked forward he came to realize how much shorter he was then the other... Wow...

Though he was brought back by the other 'praising' him, if that's what you would call it. He quirked an eyebrow though said nothing as he was sure he'd come up with some dumbass remark only to get it retaliated back at him in some sort of riddle.

It was almost dizzying at where his attention was being drawn time and time again, to the noises, back to Yu, to the noises--- Ears perking his eyes widened at the whole 'destroying furniture' part of the others spiel. "You what!? Why in the world would you just 'destroy furniture'?"

He once again made the space a bit larger between them, though was reminded and moved just a little bit closer, looking out into the trees...

Off again in his mind, it seemed. Yubikiri caught a familiar wisp of a scent on the air, and the way it played with his mind he knew right away what it was. He had encountered it once before, and even then the results were... rather disasterous, in his case. Huffing quietly, he took a sharp turn in the opposing direction, intending to stay as far away from that particular patch of flowers as he could. There were just some things in this world he could not completely grasp, and right now he wasn't about to repeat a past mistake.

Rather suddenly, Yubikiri realized that Lexian had spoken to him and that he never quite responded. His mind was once again shifting uncomfortably, and he wasn't able to keep his nonchalant composure up anymore -- not until they got away. "Ah-- uh, it's nothing," he answered with the shortest reply he could think up. Maybe he would explain later, but right now he just wanted to get as much distance in as he could. He liked it better when he could remain in control of his actions.

But he didn't get much further before he realized where they were. He grumbled a little, ears twitching before they lay flat against his head. By now, Lexian must have realized it, too -- the lights protruding through the trees off in the distance symbolized the bright city lights and broke through the darkness, although dimly. Muffled beats from numerous locales on the outskirts of the city found their way to where they stood, even if they still had quite a ways to walk. "Believe me now?" he grumbled, almost below his breath. He was agitated, that much was sure, but the emotion was directionless and Yubikiri found himself using it on anything that irked him even slightly, including the predicament.

It wasn't fair... he just wasn't used to it. Almost any sort of emotion was alien to the shadow-cat, and this one was no exception. He wanted to be over and done with this little escapade, but then again... he didn't really know. He pondered if he should just let Lexian find the rest of his way back, but in the process had only continued walking closer to the city. He snorted; he should probably just get as much distance between him and the flowers as he led Lex back to the city, and then take a different route back into the forest. Best idea he could come up with.

"Arrgh..." he growled, holding his hands up to his ears. He wasn't used to hearing the sound that the city had to offer, and although it seemed to be unpleasant for Yu, his grouchiness was uncharacteristically enhanced at the moment. Usually he may have just let Lexian go on ahead and get out of there, but... he wasn't sure. He felt like he needed to see Lexian out of here completely before leaving. "How can you stand it?" he asked, confused.

(( Just so you're not completely lost, in a previous roleplay I had him in, he had encountered these flowers that held a bit of black magic in them, and they messed with Yubikiri's mind and abilities. So yeah, kinda his weakness. XD ))

((Ah ~ okay <33 ))

Lexian's ears perked as he was caught off guard a little at the sudden turn and hurried to follow. That... was odd. He watched Yu quietly and realized once again that he probably shouldn't stick around too long... It... was odd. Part of him told him to hurry it along and leave as soon as possible but the other felt as if... as if there was something else. It appeared that the other feline didn't really seem to be social all that often.

He cleared his throat and looked down and was once again thrown off guard as he took a big step to avoid hurting himself and tripping on a root. His step ended up to be more a hop or sorts as it took a couple tries to get both his feet back on the ground and once again functioning as they should... He'd missed the others reply, but he had easily forgotten he'd asked a question as he tried to calm himself from the startle without Yu realizing.

Looking up, the tiger spotted lights, his ears perked to catch the noises and they instantly went folding back a little. It all did seem a little obnoxious now, at least compared to the forest they were in. He heard voices, yelling, cars, music... He looked over at the cat when he muttered and he blinked, and looked away a bit embarrassed he'd been so rude.

Watching quietly, he said nothing as the other covered his ears. At the question he stopped and stood a moment, looking towards the lights... "I... don't know. I suppose... it makes me feels not so lonely."

Oh dear ~ That was a bit too deep for a one time meeting huh? Guess it didn't matter... He probably wouldn't see Yu again though he needed to say it, "Um... Thank you." He cleared his throat, "I'm sorry to have bothered you..."

It was no use... Yubikiri was having too hard of a time keeping his bearings on what was happening. He took a seat on a fallen over log in the pathway subconsciously, unaware that he was no longer moving forward. His eyes closed as he gritted his teeth, still covering his ears though the sounds of the city were no longer coming to them. Damn it, I got too close..! he growled mentally. He hadn't been aware at how familiar the area had been before stumbling onto the familiar scent, and by then it had been too late; the effects were already afflicting him. He was far enough away now, but their innate ability still had its clutch on him. Which meant he had to wait it out.

He was unaware of the thoughts running through Lexian's head over the situation. He had heard the tiger's explanation of the reason he had liked the city, but it didn't register right away. Instead, he filed the information away for later, when he could actually understand what it meant.

He opened his eyes as Lexian continued talking. It sounded like he was... nervous. He lowered his hands as he watched Lexian maneuver to leave, and the only action Yubikiri could seem to take was a bit overbearing. Scrunching up his nose, he rose quickly to grab at Lexian's wrist to stop him from taking another step. "Look, I promised to take you to the city, and I intend to keep it. Yes, you can hear it, but that doesn't always mean it's nearby. Sound travels. I'm going to take you to the city; I'm not just going to drop you off near it." His voice sounded as though he were angry, snapping at something that Lexian never did or said.

Realizing that he had lost his control over his emotions again, he turned his head down. He flinched, realizing his hand was shaking from the effects he was trying to ward off, and quickly released his grip on Lex. He hissed, turning to continue toward the bustle of the city. Great, now I'm a spaz. He gripped at his own wrist to steady the shaking. Doesn't help this contamination throughout my body is like a drug.

Tail flicking, the tiger blinked and stared at Yu, his ears going back a little. His first instinct was to say 'Let go!' then pull his arm away but he just stood, watching Yu. He couldn't help as he tested the grip by giving a small pull, leaning back a bit.

"Yubikiri..." His ears went back a little as he looked at the hand feeling the obvious shaking, and looked back up when he was released. He couldn't help but feel as if he'd been scolded by the other and didn't understand why. He was just saving him the hassle of walking him the whole way... Was there something wrong? It didn't seem it was just his promise that was bothering the other cat.

Frowning a bit, his ears went back flat against his head, his tail flicked a bit annoyed now. "Hey-!" He went after Yu and grabbed the others arm, trying to stop the other, wanting to make the other move somewhere where he could sit. "If there's something wrong it's okay to rest! I...won't go anywhere... Sit."

Yubikiri really hadn't expected to be grabbed like that, let alone by Lexian, so the shadow cat hadn't had enough time for it to register what he should have done in a situation like that. With his head still clouded with a myriad of strange, usually suppressed thoughts and emotions, he wasn't prepared to be grabbed like he had just done to the tiger boy. In an automatic self-defense reaction, Yubikiri quickly whipped around and swung his free arm up toward Lexian's head, only to freeze up to stop just before hitting him, muscles in his arm straining with the hasty reaction. His blue eyes went wide, an expression he was not commonly seen using, before dropping his arm to his side. If he was thinking any more clearly he would've been backing away at that moment, but currently his whole body was frozen in place.

Realizing the way he was acting, he straightened out his gaze and gave a bit of a glare, if only to pretend he knew what he was doing. I don't need to sit, I just need to get outta here, he grumbled to himself before sighing. The facade didn't last as his gaze fell to the ground, knowing that it really wasn't a good idea to keep going on like this; he didn't want to hurt Lexian like that, especially if he was only trying to help him out. Which was weird, now that Yu thought about it; didn't Lex want to get away from him as soon as possible?

Yu shook his head; he could think about it later. "Y-Yeah, that's probably a good idea," he replied after a pause, cursing that his body was still shaking enough to be evident in his voice. Hopefully that little stint he just pulled wouldn't creep the uke out any more than he already had accomplished doing. He just had to calm himself down.

In response to Lexian's suggestion, Yubikiri sat himself down where he stood, though it was almost reflex and wasn't something Yu really thought about. He heaved another sigh, partly in frustration but also in relief. It was nice to sit down again, even though the circumstances were less than favorable for his taste. After a moment, Yubikiri opened the eye closest to Lexian to see what he was up to. "Thanks," he murmured quietly before he leaned himself agaist a tree.

Lexian wasn't expecting the swing and the only thing he could do, his mind reeling, was flinch a bit, expecting the blow to come hard and fast. Somewhere in between all that, he'd let go of the other feline as if the touch hurt.

Peeking through an eye when the hit didn't come he glanced at Yu, seeing that he to, seemed somewhat shocked. It took several mental shakes to himself to get his body to relax from his reflex, his ears going back as he was glared at. he frowned and straightened himself about to curse at the other and walk off, even if it meant getting lost.

He said nothing, his mind finding nothing that would be of the friendly manner or appropriate for the time. Well, maybe, but he didn't feel like saying anything that was in his mind. He barely caught the grumble as he quirked a light eyebrow, his tail flicked behind him.

And as far as getting away, it was probably already to late. Any of the people he was planning to meet, probably already thought he stood them up. Ugh... That was going to be a mess and a half for him to clean up. 'Hey sorry, tried to take a short cut through the woods and got severely lost, then met a crazy cat who tried to punch me and...' Well, the gist had been gotten.

Lex's attention was drawn once again as the other finally moved, shaking his head. His ears were comfortably back as he watched the other a bit carefully, making sure he'd dodge if another blow came his way for whatever reason. He was a bit shocked as the other agreed so easily.

Finally, ears going up, he blinked as the other pretty much just went straight down to the floor. He was about say he could sit somewhere else, when he looked around and saw... there was no where else but the ground to really sit.

Clearing his throat lightly he looked at the feline, standing close, though out of reach, before he looked at the ground, fidgeting with his shirt a little. His gaze flicked over as a thanks was given, though he didn't know what. "Right..." He wasn't good with receiving compliments or thank yous of any sorts, and it was actually quite obvious.

Looking around the dark he finally sunk down himself, pulling his knees to his chest... They could wait this out...

(( XDDD That post made me giggle. That was amusing~ ))

Sitting cross-legged on the ground as he leaned against the tree to his side, Yu clamped his hands together in a futile attempt to stop his shaking. Although it wasn't completely obvious unless one was looking for it, just the thought of himself in such a vulnerable state made him uncomfortable, and for some reason he was adamant on not scaring Lexian away. Even though he enjoyed creeping others out to an extent, he was more determined to keep the promises he made, even if they weren't directly stated as such. In a way, it kept his mind off of quite a few things in his life he disliked, and when he was so one-track-minded he was less likely to do something he may regret later. After all, he had almost repeated a past mistake from before with Lexian, and not once but twice; he knew aggression wasn't always the answer, but he couldn't always stop himself. He had been lucky this time, but...

"Gahh," he grumbled, rubbing his head. That was one thing he didn't like about sitting still for so long: he had time to reflect on what he could have done better. He already knew he wasn't perfect -- hell, he knew nobody was -- but it always messed with him, as if someone were dangling something on a string in front of him that was just beyond his reach. It was aggravating!

Sighing, he turned his head back to Lexian, who was now crouched on the floor. "You know, you really should work on your reaction skills," he stated bluntly. Despite his almost demeaning attitude toward it, what had just happened actually really bugged him. Was it really just slow reflexes that kept Lex from dodging, or did he actually know that Yubikiri wouldn't have hit him? Could he have read him that well? Even if the shadowcat didn't mean to do it himself, it could have been a possibility... or maybe Yu was just reading too far into it. After all, it was bugging him, especially knowing that Lexian didn't know if this was a regular aspect of him or not. It wasn't, but how would he know? Either way, Lexian's reply may shed some light into Yu's inquiries.

However, Yubikiri's ears folded back as he realized that Lexian was pretty upset. He knew the tiger boy had just wanted to get out of here, and now it was becoming Yubikiri's fault that he wasn't reaching to his destination. Glaring at the floor slightly, he sighed a bit before rising back to his feet. He had only rested for a minute or two, but he didn't want to fail in what he put his mind to. After all, he didn't want Lexian to be completely furious of him, just maybe slightly annoyed. He motioned with his hand for him to get up, "Come on, we shouldn't stay here. I mean, we're almost to the city. If I need to, I can rest there instead." That way, you don't have to stick around with me if you don't want to, he thought, as if trying to harass himself. Ah well, even if it was the only good to come out of tonight, at least it meant he could leave the loud atmosphere of the city all the sooner as well.

(( xD <3 Glad you liked it ~ ))

Ears flicking, Lexian glanced in Yu's general direction at the grumble. He was taken aback at the seem to be scolding, and frowned looking back at the floor, ears going back. "Well, sooorry I was thinking so much I forgot to dodge... Besides..." He mumbled this last bit, "It's not like you would hit me..." Or so he thought; more like hoped.

Fidgeting a bit himself, he watched Yu curiously before looking back down at the ground, drawing in the dirt a bit. He didn't know what was wrong with the other, but it didn't seem to be wearing off to quickly either. He wasn't worried anymore about being on time (he was waaay past fashionably late) more as in hoping there wasn't anything seriously wrong with the other feline... He could wait a bit more.

The tiger looked up, ears perked, as he heard movement from the other though didn't rise immediately. "Hey, Yu, I can wait..." His ears went back as he dusted off his hands anyways, though looked down, "Besides, what would being a little later matter? Everyone's probably gone and thought I stood them up... Sit down." He motioned with his chin, not really leaving room to argue.

"We'll go when you aren't shaking anymore... I'd prefer not to get a black eye." There was no spite in his comment as he rested his chin to his knees, watching a bug crawl over the dirt...

Yubikiri stared, eyes growing wide at Lexian's answer to his question. He almost hadn't caught it, giving an off-handed smirk of relief before the tiger continued on quietly. He knew... he actually knew! Well, it wasn't necessarily a bad thing -- just meant that Lexian trusted Yubikiri more than the shadowcat had thought -- but he was so accurate with the assumption that it had thrown him off-guard. His hat tilted, covering his eyes as he cleared his throat. "Lucky for you," he replied curtly, but it still unnerved him. Not only that, but he had shown that it frightened him a bit without meaning to. How embarrassing.

He fidgeted a little in place where he stood. "I'm fine," he said gruffly, though he wasn't really making much effort to get out of there right away. It didn't help that Lexian made for a rather convincing force, with the tone he used. In fact, it made Yubikiri a little upset when the truth was finally said to him. He had known, deep down, that he was probably too late already, but the fact that Lexian had come to the same conclusion made him feel like he had failed in what he set out to do.

"Urrrgh," he grumbled, pulling down on either side of the brim of his pointed hat so that it fell down to his nose as he sank down back to the ground. It hurt him to know that he couldn't keep a promise, something he always tried to avoid by any means necessary. In a way, hiding his eyes from the world was a childish manner of throwing a tantrum, but by no means was he angry at Lexian for it. True, Lexian was probably far too late to where he was headed when Yu had found him wandering around, but it didn't help him any.

"I'm sorry," he managed to say, still pulling at his hat. His hands were still shaking, but at the moment that was just a minor nuisance to him, and not one he paid any heed to.
PostPosted: Wed Sep 03, 2008 10:58 pm

Lexian poked at the bug and rolled his eyes at the others retort to his response about not dodging. Tail curling around him he didn't glance to the other where he stood, merely poked at the bug and toppled it over, smirking lightly as it did. Hehe... He gave a small purr.

Finally, he looked up to glance momentarily. "No you're not. Sit." With that, he looked back to the ground. His ears had just settled back when the tiger heard the grumble which caused them to perk, and glanced up once again.

Lexian was a bit taken aback by the scene of the other sunken to the ground covered with his hat. 'What the...?' His eyes narrowed a little as he watched. He was just about to ask if the other felt sick when the sorry came out, which almost knocked him over. In fact, Lex lost his balance and flopped onto the dirt on his butt.

He sat speechless a moment as he watched the other. He could see the shaking which was giving the impression of the other crying, or something of the sort which only seemed to explain the almost pitiful 'sorry'.

Leaning forward a bit he tried to get a look under the hat. "It's not that big of a deal... you're not crying are you?"

(( XDDD I find it funny Yubikiri, a seme, is getting ordered around by Lexian, an uke. *snicker* ))

Ears pulled back as far as he could manage as hands still gripped to either side of the brim of his hat, Yubikiri nearly lost all sense of where he was at that moment. The anger he was producing toward himself tensed up his muscles, almost blocking the sounds he was hearing from reaching his brain enough to recognize. He almost didn't realize when Lexian toppled over onto the ground, and even then it was a rather delayed reaction.

He turned his head slowly around to find the white tiger-striped cat sitting on the floor now, looking a little concerned. His nose wrinkled at the sight; he didn't like this kind of attention. He was more used to being hated, not... pitied. He'd need to think of a way to get out of this predicament quickly, before the effects of that flower ruined things completely for him.

Though, it was a rather big change to see Lexian like this as well. Granted, there was no way of knowing how he normally acted, but based off of what he had experienced so far of Lex, it was a rather big change. He wasn't sure if he liked the change or not, but it did make him slightly uncomfortable.

His tail twitched at the question, though, and his eyes rose in a puzzled expression. They darted around for a split second until his eyes landed on the cause for the question, and immediately he lowered his arms, as if to try to hide them from view. As if that would help any. He flashed a false grin to reply with, "Of course, I know that. I'm fine, I've said it before. We should... we should just get moving. It's getting late." The smile was quick to evaporate, but he wasn't about to stick around for an answer on the matter. It's not a big deal, it's not a big deal at all! he told himself, trying to just forget about the matter for now. It was impossible to forget completely, as keeping promises were a large part of what he lived by, but he could put it in the back of his mind at least until he dropped Lexian off. He'd have to make up for it later, or suffer the consequences he laid out for himself.

He rose swiftly, brushed himself off, and started walking toward the city without a moment's notice, for fear Lexian would stop them again. Instead, he instructed the other cat to follow only after he was in motion. "Come on, best to get there sooner than later," he said with a wave of his hand. He could hold it together a little longer, but he wasn't sure just how long.

Lex's tail flicked as he watched the others reaction, not convinced in the slightest. He moved a little closer to the other feline. "Im not stupid you know..." His ears went back; he could tell something was wrong. He was about to speak again when Yu stood, his eyes following slightly shocked.

His own reaction was a bit delayed as he stayed where he was watching as Yu made way in a direction. His ears flicked as he glanced behind him hearing a rustling noise that made his tail fluff and hurried to stand, brushing himself off and taking several large strides to catch pace behind Yu once again. As usual, he stuck rather close.

"'suppose..." Was all he said on the matter of getting there. He almost didn't want to go now... What a weird complication. He growled inwardly, what was he thinking? The sooner he was there, the sooner he'd be able to leave the weird cat behind. But... there was something wrong. He felt he needed to stick by... His ears flat he watched the ground before stopping. "There's something wrong, and Im not going anywhere until I know what it is." Boy, was he a demanding uke. He hoped Yu wouldn't take another swing at him, but he hadn't touched the other so he'd be okay right?

A single ear perked at another rustling noise. There were reasons why he wasn't fond of the forest...
