Hm, swords as one I own several, two guns are dishonorable to me, three they are quieter, four it is scientifically proven that if a sword is within ten feet of a gun user the sword will win. Plus they look so cool!

Here's the breakdown of what wins in a fight:
What do you bring to a fist-fight?
A knife.
What do you bring to a knife-fight?
A gun
What do you bring to a gun-fight?
A grenade, spear or sword.
^.^
Anyway, as I am a member of an acting troupe that does Pirates (This was before PoTC, so bugger off) I work with both swords and guns. My preference? Swords.

I prefer Marksmen rifles, so there's no need for me to worry about the simple physics of close-range fights ^^

Well, if it was breaking things down to that sort of stuff, I'd choose a military grade sniper rifle. (US Military uses a Barret .50 caliber AT/AP rifle (Anti-tank, anti-personel(sp?)))

Well it depends on the situation, say if it was a class-5 zombie outbreak I would carry a blade with me for CQC situations, however at times a good rifle suites the situation better beacuse you wouldn't need to get anywhere near the zombies. Crap I took both sides again, Could you ask the question with the use of a legitimate combat situation?
