I was running around killing elderly gray bears for their skins when some guy ran up to me and asked why I was going down three different lines. I didn't know what he was talking about at first, but then he said he was talking about my specialties. I said it was because I was a n00b and didn't know until a friend told me that while I didn't HAVE to choose one line it was better to do it that way, and then he went into a spiel about how I wasn't a n00b, everyone's different and he was just generally being really nice. He gave me some advice, told me that I could go unlearn my talents and then redo it and concentrate in subtlety (rogue), told me that I could add him and that he'd help me when I needed it and then gave me 10g. O_o
Not wanting to just take the gold I gave him 10 medium leathers since I had like 50 others and then we bid our adieus (I had to leave anyway since tomorrow's the 4th and I will be a slaaave in the kitchen I want to get started early). So yeah... yay! Kindness!
Do you have any tales of random kindness?

The trouble with me is that half the time I'll buff/heal any Horde I see who look like they need it/or are just questing, and then if it looks like they might die I help them kill whatever they were fighting. Then I don't even get so much as a /smile or a wave. No thanks, no nothing, they just run away. I especially get pissed off if its a class that can give me a beneficial buff like a mage or druid. To me the Horde feels like one big dysfunctional family, so I help whoever I can. Course I've had a few nice people...a lot of the people in my guild are extremely generous. Most of the time I farm herbs so the guild alchys will make me elixirs for raiding, but sometimes I don't have enough (I get mats for both me and my boyfriend, and he uses a lot of healing power/super manas), and they'll just give us what we need, we don't even have to ask. The main tank in our guild is a blacksmith and will pretty much make you/give you whatever you need free of charge, no questions asked. He gave me 12 primal waters once because I mentioned I was farming them for a friend to get his stuff chanted with. He's also helped me farm primals once for (I think, by the time we were done) 6 hours straight, just because he felt like it.

He/She might be in a hurry or just don't know how to type anything... I would do it sometimes when they still my loot, experience, and time... But then I do thank someone that help me until I logout... Sometimes I even add them to my friends list and team up with them the next day...

People being nice to me: I cannot create anymore characters on my main server, so a friend and I made a bunch of little ones on different servers. That means no gold, no bags, nothing at all but the gray clothes on my back to start these alts out with. But when I was on one of them, somewhere around level 3, a guy came up and told me us he was deleting his character to make room for more. He gave us both a few bags and a few gold each. I also had a guildie once who would randomly hand out all her gold to the entire guild every other week or so.

I personally think sub is great for leveling, i got to 70 that way, really good CC with sub, helps with range sap and blind.
Anyways, on my 32 priest i always heal anyone i see and buff them if needed.

Ive had people randomly give me enchants before. Like "Put your gloves in will not be traded please" and just enchant them for me ;p
Also when I rolled my first horde character and didnt know anyone on the server I joined a reallllly random lowbie guild of like 6 people and the GM sent me 10g and a minipet ^_^

Heh, I totally know what you mean.
When I first joined in December my boyfriend got me into his non-raiding guild and then he stopped playing, but the guild members were soooo nice to me. I was the best looking first character lowbie anyone's ever seen, lol. They also scolded me when I didn't know what branch I was going into and was scattered all over the place and wrote me out an entire spec I could follow for each. It was great, we're a small guild, but I wouldn't leave them for anything. Plus I can have like a 70 escort to just about anything and they're always watching my back. Love for them.
I've noticed people are a lot nicer when it's not peak hours. They're like, hey, you're near me! Buffs! It's great. Being a preisty I try and stam buff everyone. Its nice to have some cooperation.

True but not the point, shoulda PMed it.False Its easy to level as any spec. I myself leveled on mutilate and would kill monster/players before KS wore off. if they lived all I would do is gouge and mutilate them again, they die, I get exp and the world is a better place having done so. On topic: I'll sometimes give advice to other rogues who have any questions about anything related to their class, infact I can give advice about any class to anyone who has questions. Someone I love very much (IRL) plays this game and if anyone ganks her (as in a skull to her) I'll stop everything I'm doing go down there find them and kill them 5 or 6 times. I've run out on Hyjal and BT groups for that very reason.

One time on my main I had someone giving out +324 attack power on gloves for free, which I was happy about. If someone buffs me I'll try and do a /thank if I can target them before they get out of range. Can't buff back, though, 'cause I'm a hunter. Don't have buffs.

I had my guildies pitch in and send me a whole heap of runecloth when I was trying to get exalted with SW on my hunter. I help out with random stuff for guildies when I'm needed, plus with friends, plus occasionally with random people I don't know... although I've stopped buffing random people 'cause I'm sick of not being thanked.
But my favourite random act has to be the naked dwarf. He was calling out for someone to dance with him for ages to no avail until he said that the first person who danced with him got free stuff and, woot, I got in first. Gold, big bag and purple BOE gun (which I gave to a friend who was a hunter). smile
