i still think mechsuites but, i think we should have atleast 1 mech maybe 2 at most.

the amount of mechs depend on how the story goes.
space maps are probaly easy to make to0. (do you even need a map? Panoramas must work wonders there)

...... okay so how about we still use mech"suits" only been used on metroid games the space maps will be a bit difficult to make but yes panoramas are good for background

Space was overwhelmingly voted "yes", so I've fast forwarded to the mech discussion. This next question asks if we should use mech suits or normal mechs, so I'll describe them below.
Normal Mech
These are more machines in their own right. They could be referred to as ships that usually have a pilot, but they can also act on their own through an A.I.. The best example I can think of are the A.G.W.S. from Xenosaga.
Mech Suits
These are basically enhancement suits for humans. The best example is Samus' suit from Metroid Prime.

Next topic: how many mechs we'll have.
Single
The only mech is the one piloted by the protagonist. It can be something like a prototype to explain why it's the only one.
A Few
A company could have just started producing them. They're still in the testing stage or are extremely expensive to make.
A Handful
Mechs are being used often in battles, although they are still largely outnumbered by standard troops.
Many
Mechs are a major part of battles, comparable to a tank in current battles. Producing them is not a problem.
They're Everywhere!!
The title pretty much says it all.

having a bunch would be hard work for a spriter.
I think a decent aout would be good
(and we can always do the good old color swap for sprites)

Yeah..just a handful sounds good. That way they're more coveted and mean more in the game. If there were a bunch of them, it would just be a kind of common thing.

The next poll has been started. This time, we need to decide whether or not the characters should have voices. The only thing I have against this is how we're going to implement them. I've never worked with voices, so I'm not sure if we convert them or even how we record them. I have a microphone (a pretty bad one), so I can record my voice, but I'm not sure where to go from there.
On a side note, I want to make sure that everyone is still excited about this project. Right now, we're going through a series of rather boring questions, but after we've answered them, I'll start writing up our design document so we can get started on making it.

well its a disease in my broncial tubes that make them a little oversized. ((broncial tubes are in the throat area.)) but yeah if i dont take care of it it can turn into namonia the docter said. ((forgot how to spell some of this stuff so forgive me.))

I think they're spelled bronchitis and pneumonia, both of which I've had at one point or another, I think. And Linis, please feel free to post anything you think about. Nothing is completely set in stone yet, so now is the time to submit ideas. After I create the design document, I'm not going to allow for many changes unless we have to change something.
I've been working on a bunch of things, like a project of my own called Specialis and now a two-week contest, so I haven't been posting much in the guild. After the design document is created, things will pick up, and I'll begin recruiting elsewhere, and probably create a site for us (or I could just use the site I made before). sweatdrop
