No one has made one of these yet? Oh well.

ZOMG that cliffhanger was sooo painful!!!!!! I wonder what the new doc will be like. And Davros was so creepy! And Caan's voice *shudder*.

Discuss.

A link to back that up would be nice...

I've seen spoilerific things that make me not worry. The stuff in question begins around 1:52 or so.

Also, Tennant is confirmed as being signed for four specials in 2009 and I recall reading somewhere that he was signed for 2010 as well, though where I heard that escapes me at the moment.

All in all, I'm convinced that it's just RTD pulling our chains but good.

But, good god, what a pull! Is it Saturday yet!?!

I'm still perplexed by the "There is something on your back" comment in the Shadow Proclamation...does this mean there will be a reset?
PostPosted: Tue Jul 01, 2008 11:24 am

In theory, it means either that she made some choice already that led us to where we are, currently, that if changed will change the outcome and reset things. Otherwise, it could also mean that she is about to make such a choice. But I did hear that chittering noise that we heard from the big bug in Turn Left.

But, yes, it does seem likely that a reset will be in order.

My family and I cheated and instead of waiting for it to come on Sci-fi we watched it on YouTube.

That's a rather interesting thing for Donna to have a reset button or other. It would be interesting if the reset enables David to be the Doctor again and we get who ever at a later date.

What got me the most was the DRUMMING when the camera zoomed in on donna that made me burning_eyes eek WTF

We also got that beat when Harriet activated the network. You know, the ta-ta-ta-tum beat that was made so famous in The Sound of Drums. That freaked me out, big-time.

So does that mean that the Master is coming back around?

It didn't sound like tSoD to me. It sounded like a heartbeat...and I usually pick up that beat pretty quickly. It might have been tSoD, though. I just disagree. It's too soon after the Master's last appearance, they can't have the same bad guy appearing season after season. That's why I'm sick of the Daleks: they're overused. Way overused. Every single finale.

The Daleks weren't in the The Sound of Drums. They've been in every season, but not every finale. And, really, the fact that they keep coming back is nothing new in the history of the show.

The beat I'm talking about kicks in at 26 minutes and 24 seconds into the episode; the beeping that precedes Harriet Jones' transmission over the SubWave network. It's definitely the same beat as the drumming. Further more, they used the same note as was used in track 21 of the season 3 soundtrack where they used that beat, at 24 seconds.

I'm not saying that the Master is coming back for the finale. In fact, at this point, it would be a little much to try and deal with. But do recall a couple things:

1. There was the lady picking up the Master's ring at the end of The Last of the Timelords. We still don't know what was up with that.
2. Harriet Jones mentioned that the SubWave network was created by the Mister Copper Foundation. What the heck is that!?!
3. The Archangel Network from The Sound of Drums was just as sophisticated. The Master has built something like this before.

So, all in all, while I doubt rather highly we're going to be seeing the Master this series (in fact, RTD has actually said we won't; he yanks our chains, but he has never all-out lied), the hints would seem to indicate that he's out there, in some form, still.

The Master's always out there...and I didn't catch the beeping during the SubWave transmission. Guess I wasn't listening very closely. blaugh I think you're right, though, we're going to be seeing the Master again. At soem point.
I think the Mister Copper foundation might have something to do with the guy from Voyage of the Damned...wasn't the one that got left on earth with a million pounds called mister Copper? I wouldn't doubt that bit; he had a million pounds to burn, after all. He could have created something called the Mister Copper Foundation.

Oh! Right! I had forgotten his name! Veeerrry interestink indeed! ninja

The question becomes whether or not he actually had a hand in developing the technology or was just the one to throw money at it. He strikes me as a rather naive individual. Perhaps he is being taken for a rather sinister ride...

Hmm... interesting indeedeedoo...

Meanwhile, anyone want to speculate on the Osterhagen Key that UNIT handed Martha?

I've been googling the term and I've come up with some interesting factoids.

1. Osterhagen is a place in Germany.
2. A sub-camp of the WWII concentration camp network was there.
3. You can split it into two words, oster and Hagen; "oster" being an old Saxon (eh? What now?!) word for "to rise" and Hagen being the name of a one-eyed, half-brother villain of a hero in an ancient Germanic story.
4. Osterhagen is an anagram of "Earths gone."
5. Oster and Hagen are two recent scientists; the former has his hands into biology and the latter does work in QFT on two-dimension theories.

Speculation thus far has been rampant. Some of speculated that it is a self-destruct for the entire Earth. Some have said that it will "unlock" that portion of time that is "locked" by the timewar and will may even restore Gallifrey. At least one person has sited the Skasis Paradigm (see "School Reunion" in the second series) and has suggested that it is somehow a device to allow the creation of a completely new universe according to the key-holder's parameters.

Considering that Harriet Jones told Martha not to use it and that Martha herself is extremely reluctant to use it, it would seem that something very bad happens as a side-effect.

Any thoughts?

Well RTD did say (I think it was in the Radio Times) that a lot of loose ends will be tied up in the finale, and the ring IS a loose end... And it will be 1 hour 5 minutes in case anyone things that putting the Master in at the end won't fit. I personally don't thing that the master will be back, but maybe in a special?

Also does anyone know if the specials in 2009 will be feature-length?
