Me and one of my reality baised friends have a continuing debate that I think needs to be shared along an audience of understanding...
If Jimi Hendrix was alive, woul he of stuck to the analog age, or converted to digital sounds.
I personally feel that, should he spontaniousy sprout from the ground and convince his fans he's NOT a brain sucking zombie (though quite frankly he could suck at MY brains all night long), he would soon become obcessed with the digital age. I think he would purchase a line 6 pod EMIDIATLY, and enjoy playing with the versitility of said POD, downloading every possible sound effect he so wished...
I feel he would also enjoy the accsessibility to the synthesised technology offered today, as the 'synths' in his day required several years of trainang and, in some cases, a PHD to work correctly. I feel the ease and accessibilty of such sound effects and production qualities would be too much for him to resist.
This, and much more leads me to the conclusion that Jimi Hendrix would thrive off of todays digital technology, but again, I was wondering what anyone else thought...
That, and I'm mildly enibriated... s'all good

Though I doubt he'd download every possible effect the POD had because he had an ear for tone, there's no doubt that he'd take advantage over digital effects, synths, MIDI's and the like considering he was always using the latest technology when he was alive.

THANKYOU!He was the most innovative guitarists of all time and he did that by not only using his just awesome technique and skill, but by utilizing the latest technology possible. There are the tone-nazi's, Hendrix-purists that'll say that he wouldn't resort to that, but it's not a resort, it's experimentation.

If Hendrix had all the technology of today he'd fool around with all of it for like an entire year then make half a dozen albums the year after. Hendrix would LOVE the crazy sc-fi sounds a guitar can make today.

Do i think he'd purchase a POD? No (unless it has a specific tone or effect for a recording). I do, however, think he'd purchase all those crazy pedals and things like the TC Electronics G Major, Eventide harmonizers, and all the like. As an innovative individual as he was, he, in my opinion, wouldnt not stick to traditions and would the available technology to produce new crazy s**t.

I see what your getting at, the only reason I said POD was because of how comprehensive it is and how, which the right tech training (which I feel he'd get) he could pretty much do everything to a degree.
But what you stated was the other technologies available that he would DEFINATLY invest in...

he probably would have turned to digital sounds even though he was all about tones digital sounds can boost the tones and he could adjust them to what he felt sounded better
