I've tried it - not enthralled with it enough to pay for it.

Love it! The game will only get better once people pay for it.

I always play wow, and our raiding guild seems to be slipping into a "casual" guild status because 85% of the raiders (and in our guilds case, the ones with all the knowledge of gear, instances, etc too) seem to have gotten sucked into Age of Conan. I know my bf tells me that he won't stay past the 30 days trial, but I'm starting to think Ive heard that now for at least a month easily, lol!

The raiders are mildly upset because when they finally do schedule a raid, about 1/4 of the raiders are too busy with AoC to show up for the raid, and then the rest of the guild are too under-geared to attempt to fill in.

Anyone elses WoW raiding guild slowly dying because of this AoC game?

I've never gotten hooked to WoW or Conan, so I wouldn't know about dwindling membership. I just lose interest quickly with those games and I'm not sure why. I did get an addiction to city of villains though.

This is something that happens a lot and you will see it most likely happening a lot more with the release of Warhammer providing it holds the PVP content that gamers want. The only thing wow has against it right now is that it has been out so long that a portion of its player base have grown tired with it.

Age of Conan was just the first game to actually come out and became quickly popular more so than Funcom had orignally thought. While I don't think any one game will be able to match WoW's success and kill its player base however I do think that over time several mmo's may be released that are going to chip away at WoW's player base. Just the way of MMO's

I haven't played AofC yet. What does it offer that WoW doesn't have?

I want to try AoC, but I have to wait till I can somehow muster up enough money to get a new computer since my laptop won't run it almost guaranteed (it runs WoW, but my laptop gets pretty hot).

I play WoW pretty often and I'm also in a raiding guild that is currently on Mu'ru this week for the first time and well, we have a good number of players that do play AoC too. But it seems like if you have a guild in WoW that is dedicated, loyal and well.....making progression, people will easily chose WoW over AoC. I've wanted to pick up AoC but I just don't have the money or time for another MMORPG. cool

I'm interested in playing AoC, but I want to try out the game before I buy the full game. So if anyone has a spare trial-key code, it'd be most appreciated.

I played the demo and it was pretty good, the gameplay was respectable, battle sequences were well set up, and the story seems to be pretty good.. all in all I think this is a purchase worthy game.. however I would not pay 59.99, 49.99 or even 39.99 for this game.. the adequate price for this game should be the 20-25 $ area.
So what I will probably do is just wait until a store near my puts it on sale or does a 2 for 40$ deal and snag another awesome game with it.
