Recently in school, we had to write plays as a final grade in my Drama Class.
Our "final exam" is to act these plays out in front of the class.
We were given the assignment about one week ago,
And tomorrow we are performing just in front of the other class.
So each student in the class is assigned to two other students,
All three have written seperate scripts, and everyone in the group chooses one to act out.
Well, my group choose my script; which I'm pleased with,
However, my script was poorly speed-typed, and had been paid little attention when I wrote it.
So I'm sli--ghtly embarrassed about performing it tomorrow.
But, I do like the idea.
My friends Emerald and Andy are performing it with moi.
It's about a 17-year-old girl who fell in love with a soldier who was deployed;
And killed in action, (this she doesn't know, she comes to realization that he might have died at the end of the play while she is writing him a letter),
A Hindu "Turk": an officer/assassin who works for the President,
And a Ten-year-old boy who looks up to the girl like an older sister.
(YEAH ITS FFVII BASED.)
So I'm Aeris (The Girl), Emerald's Tseng (I'm going to have fun drawing a Tilac on her forehead), and Andy's Boy (The kid. xD )
I think it's one of the only plays that's... serious-ish.
PLOTPLOTPLOT:
So it's a love Triangle. Tseng loves Aeris, Aeris loves Zack.
Zack has been gone on a simple mission in Nibelhiem for months,
And Aeris hasn't recieved definite word from him for a number of weeks.
The boy is doubtful of Zack returning, and hints at the possibility of the man being K.I.A once or twice in Aeris' presence, however quickly shuts himself up each time.
Aeris writes Zack letters weekly, and Tseng mails them for her.
Tseng is abruptly annoyed with this, and he asks her at one point what she could possibly write about,
Aeris answers with 'Not about where he's been, since that information is probably 'disclosed' anyway. The Flowers, The Slums, How I've been, how he's been.
How much I miss him, and wish he'd come home. I mean I love him.'
Blahblahblah.
Tseng asks when her next letter will be ready, She answers with 'before the day is out',
He leaves, and that's just a little outline,
There's constant mentioning of a broken wagon/wheelbarrow within the play too.
It ends with Aeris writing another letter to Zack, and she writes it in a very optimistic and happy tone,
Until she finally comes to the end, in which, she mentions, "I know you'll come home soon, you promised, and you'd never break your promise, the only thing that could stop you would be if you-- .. died."
Then she stops. Rereads what she wrote, and while coming to realization, the lights dim.
DAMNZEY'S ANGSTY PLAY. :"D PURE CRAP BUT DAMNZEY LOVES IT.
There's a small scene while Aeris is writing another letter to Zack,
And Tseng's being a stalker in the back watching her, and in an aside tell the audience he's in love with her.
.. and- um. There's also Tseng's office scene, where he's checking out Zack's personal files...
and um. The setting is a Garden, the streets of the slums, Tseng's Office, and a playground.
The only set Damzney's making is Aeris' garden.
Emerald made a window. for Tseng's office.
AND AS FOR PROPS.
Damnzey might bring in a pot of flowers, and weed it during the play. <3
>.> And Damzney wants to bring in a burnt within temptation CD for something to be going on in the background- and also a measurement tool to make sure the play isn't over ten minutes long- and make sure it's at least five minutes.
