 Mira stumbled through the undergrowth for the forest, the brush tugging at her fur. She did not really like being in an area so thick with trees, but if you were to ask her, Mira would never admit that in fact she was actually lost. After padding along for what seemed like forever, Mira noticed that finally the trees seemed to be thinning. Walking a little faster, she broke into an awkward run as she tried harder and harder just to get out of this natural maze. "I was really not meant for this..." She grumbled before stumbling to the ground as she finally broke through the tree cover. Shaking her head and looking around, Mira saw a cave up ahead and smiled happily. "Much better..." she sighed to herself and padded forward, wondering if anyone lived around this area.

Phoenix relaxed on a high up ledge in the cave of fire mist. Because of where she was it was hard to see her through the thick blanket of red mist that filled the cave from the hot springs below her. She yawns and flicked a small pebbled off the ledge only to hear a "plop" into the water. "Spirits are oddly quiet today...." she murmured to herself as there was no one else living you occupied the cave.

Mira had heard about a great saber that wandered around these parts, and she was a bit curious about what they were like. Many of her acquaintances had told her not to venture to see this Saber, that it would be too dangerous and such, but Mira was the kind of gal who laughed in the face of danger. Picking her way around the caves, she began to feel rather hot. In fact, it was abnormally hot, and as she padded around, Mira noticed a large quantity of hot springs pooled about the bottom of the caves. Beginning to grow curious once more, Mira padded up to one of the springs and ran her paw over the top of the water. She quickly shrunk back and winced slightly, the water was much hotter than she thought it would be. Looking around once more, Mira scented the air, wondering if she could catch the scent of any other living being in the area.

Suddenly soft whispers began to become noticeable to Phoenix and she looked out over the mist. In places the mist shifted as if alive and her brow wrinkled. What was causing the spirits of the dead to suddenly rouse themselves from the peace. Phoenix got up and leaped to a ledge that was lower and within the mist. She tilted her head and sniffed. Having lived her whole existence within the cave, the heat did not bother her and she was able to smell around the dampness of the mist to find that there was an intruder. She rumbled a foreboding sound hoping to get them to get out of her home.

A shiver ran down Mira's back as she felt a slight change in the atmosphere; something or someone was watching her. She whirled around rapidly and stared about herself, beginning to panic slightly as the hot mists in the air wrapped around her. Taking a deep breath Mira quickly calmed down, if something was going to kill her Mira would at least like to have a chance at saving herself, and that required a quick mind that was not weighed down by fear. Mira settled down onto the rocks and bowed her head hoping whatever being watching her would see this as a sign of respect for their power. As she her a rather unpleasant growl, the fur on the nape of her neck stood on end, but Mira refused to move, instead she bowed even lower before straitening herself and looking around. She paused for a moment before speaking, "Great Saber of the fire, I come in peace. Please do not harm me..." Mira hoped this would work, I'm too young to die..... At that thought she smiled to herself waiting for something to happen.
