How did you put your AVI together ?

Were you trying to use your favorite color,
or use items that have meaning to you ?

Have you ever entered your AVI in the "Arena"
to compete with others ?

Heres an idea I have:
What if we have one member of the guild enter
the "Arena" each week.

Then we all go give them a 10 vote and a great comment.
Maybe we might get some wins for our members ?

If everyone could make sure to vote !!!
You would have all week to find time.
What do you think, should we do it ?

but I refuse.
Lots of people spend time earning gold for their avis
If everyone just voted on their friends then it would be completely biased and unfair,
If you want my vote you'll have to earn it.

If you read the rules, you will see that its already biased !!! Read the part about how they use an algorythm when determining the winner.... And I didn't say we would put a member wearing starter gear in. It was just the begining of an idea. Lets say the second part is, they must win here in the guild first ? Then we have them enter...

This sounds interesting enough. But i do have to agree if everyone just voted a 10 it would seem unfair even if the rules are already making things that way.

I think that is an excellent idea! especially the part about having an avi contest in the guild first! Sounds like fun! mrgreen

we should do the avitar contest,
but create a sub-forum 4 it 1st,
then have 5 people's avitars in each topic in the forum,
and the poll be the votes for the winner,
also the posts be what the person's story for their avi is,
then after a week or so,
only a few people will have won,
then have a new topic for the winners.
then the winner of the winners goes to the arena and every1 votes 4 them.
-or a prize twisted goldies exclaim

As far as fair is concerned, do you really think that it is fair now ? They use an algorithm to determine the winner. Here is that part of the rules

("Winners are determined by a computer using an algorithm that uses an average that has been weighted to mitigate downvoting (people who vote maliciously and unfairly). ")

This means that the votes aren't counted as they were given. Also, do you really think there aren't other guilds or people with giant friends list doing exactly what I have proposed ? Here is the rules on this, as long as we just ask guild members to vote for another member to show guild spirit, and there is no reward for them doing so, its not a violation of the rules !!!

("Offering gold, items or services to gain more votes and comments is not allowed. Asking/suggesting that other members to vote for your avatar in the arena is fine, however paying them to vote for you, or promising to do so, is not.

ANY contest that offers a prize, or ANY thread that offers possible financial gain to participants cannot operate in conjunction with an arena advertisement.

This means you cannot host any contest or offer prizes/gold and link to an Arena Advertisement within the same thread or ask for votes or comments on your entry. Any kind of financial gain, promised or actual, made in conjunction with requests for votes or comments is strictly forbidden in the Arena as it is usually a form of bribery, whether the prize is guaranteed or not.

Any users violating this rule will have their entry disqualified.")
