Okay , so I'm an upcoming sophomore running for drum major.
I've only had a months worth of experience, and I'm running against our ex drum major(senior) and another sophomore who has even less experience than me.
Our DM instructer had us all conduct the Star Spangled Banner and rated our performances.
I was ranked at 4.5
The senior ex Dm got a 6
and the other sophomore wasn't even ranked...
So um...What do you guys think my chances at being Drum Major are?

Um, if there's only one drum major, I'd guess the old drum major would get the position. However, you have an excellent chance for next year. If you don't make drum major, you should try to get section leader for next year, to get some leadership experience (if you're not already).
Oh, and if you want more tips, you should try the drum major thread. It is a sticky in this forum.
