I've watched Yu Yu Hakusho over 31 times over and I'm on my 32 time around ^^
it's truely a great show worth watching again and again.
Agreed?
YYH has a sertin aura about it that is old yet modern at the same time. I for one like the old anime style, it makes it seem so retro heart

I just recently bought the DVDs I was missing, so I'm only on my 3rd time around, but it's so worth it, especially when I can finally see it uncut and with subs.

I've seen most of the series only about four times overall, for the same reasons as Broken Hearted-chan, but I've watched the episodes I like best about eight times (or more) and counting - that includes fifteen or so episodes scattered around leading up to the end of Chapter Black, in addition to the entire Three Kings arc.
YYH is definitely a show that warrants watching over and over, even though I will admit that I still cringe at the animation in the first couple of arcs after having been spoiled with the lovely animation from the end of the DT arc on.

I've seen the series something like six times, although my fiance says I'm off and it's closer to eight; I tend to actually watch through the DT and then kind of taper off, since I'm not nearly as fond of the Sensui arc or the 3 Kings arc. Ditto on the animation; the series beginning always makes me go, "What's wrong with Yuusuke's face? Gah!"
I think the series is a lot more complex than it appears at first, and so watching it multiple times can drop new insight on me each go-round. That's one of the reasons it's my favorite anime -- there's so much going on in the background, despite the simplicity the plot seems to have on first viewing.

I'm a sucker for that stuff XD like GB and GBZ

Broken Hearted Hiei Oh gawd...Hiei's face at one point during his fight with Bui...I was like "Wow, that sucked." Yeah, during that fight there were some funny distortions, and Hiei gets almost cartoony for a short while. That, I think, is on purpose though, to emphasize the strength and wrongness of the Kokoryuha.

Another person who thinks that the animation in that episode was intentionally messed up in order to emphasize something? Awesome! *High-five* (Though I'm not surprised in the least that you were the other person to think that, borderline_mary... 3nodding ) I agree also about getting new insights with each viewing. I couldn't list all of the things I've noticed off the top of my head, though... sweatdrop

I have definitively watched the series at least eleven times and I have yet to get bored. I got to agree with you Mary, there is a lot more going on in the background than what it seems like. That's why I prefer this series over for example Dragon Ball which has gotten a lot more positive reviews than Yu Yu Hakusho. That's at least my impression.
In my own defense, I have known of Yu Yu Hakusho for many years now so that's probably why I watched it so many times. smile

Have you ever read the manga? It's good to ^^

Not a chance! I usually prefer the so-called "old school" series over the newer ones, such as Sailor Moon, Yu Yu Hakusho, Slam Dunk etc. Besides, Slam Dunk's main character acts and looks like Kuwabara, so that's a plus. wink I have just recently started to read the manga actually, and I am soon finished. I am in the Three Kings season/saga now, which is my least favorite season as it lack one of the four main characters and seem, at times, a little rushed. Such a shame...

I'm an OSA (old school anime) fan as well, mostly for SM, YYH, and Cowboy Bebop.
