I have this crappy amp that i got in a starter guitar pack, the overdrive is terrible. The problem is i haven't got much money so should i just get an overdrive pedal or would it be better to save for a new amp?

Even if you get a new pedal, you will still be playing through a junk amp, so I don't think you will like the sound still, and you would have just wasted money on a pedal.

And my Distortion pedal. I just happen to prefer the sound of my Pedal more. And I only connect my Distortion since i don't want to drain the battery in my Tuner...!

get a new amp first, it's possible that the distortion pedal you get will be too much for the amp.
As far as pedals go, you dont need too many unless you want to manipulate your sound alot more than most.
I keep around a phaser, wah, distortion, chorus, delay and a whammy.

I'd get a new amp. A new pedal is pretty useless if your amp sucks.

Save for a tube amp, please, in the long run you will not be dissapointed. There are pretty reasonable one, I think there is a peavy one for pretty cheap, only a few 100, check guitar center or musiciansfriend. Nothing compare to tube distortion.

Get an amp man, I had the same situation when I started and I bought the pedal. When I finally got a new amp I was blown away. Trust me on this go for the amp.
