Ya know I have watched the anime (only in Japanese which may have been its down fall due to the lack of effort on the subtitles) and I was dissapointed because it didnt contain any of the good humor that is located in the games and the manga series.
On the other hand Hour of Darkness stole my heart right when I heard the words "As an overlord I must be impartial and... PLUNDER EVERYTHING!" The humor just blows me away expecially in the manga I love everything about it which is why I almost cried when I saw that crap excuse for an anime. They dont even follow the story crying please someone reassure me that the anime is much better in english because its breaking my heart how horrid the anime is in japanese.
oh and feel free to comment on the game or manga or whatever and display your oppinion of it.

ugh, i didn't even want to bother with that anime in japanese.
To reassure yourself, the english dub 1st episode is out on youtube.
Just search disgaea anime or english sub. Yup yup...haven't watched it yet, but the beggining i have

Honestly, the anime is sad. Compared to the game, I had to wonder what they were thinking. Aside from that, I can't honestly say I've read enough of the Manga to give an honest opinion on it, but above all, I have to say: Play the Game.

I have the first game on the psp. And I find it damn addicting biggrin blaugh
When I first got it I stayed up till I think 4 am playing it sweatdrop
I havent had a lot of time lately to play it sadly. I am up to bout 34 hours but only on chapter 7. Been doing a lot of item world sweatdrop

Hour of Darkness: Hilarious demon humor and solid gameplay.
Cursed Memories: Not as funny, but improved gameplay, especially in the post-game.
Absence of Justice: Puts the hilarious demon humor back into the equation and combines it with gameplay which has been even further updated since Cursed Memories. *sigh* If only they hi-deffed the sprites at least.
Story wise Id say Hour of Darkness but that may change in August when Absence of Justice comes out ^_^
