Lusivan was bumbling along beside Elminith, frustrated with his own clumsiness. He couldn't walk smoothly like the others could, not yet, and he was so clumsy that every prank he tried to pull he got caught before it was properly set up. It wasn't fair.

Elminith smiled up at the sky before glancing down at the young jivvin. He was cute, with his evident frustration that he wasn't immediately as graceful as an adult. He'd move better as he got older, but he didn't seem to realize that.

Suddenly, there was a rustling in the bushes next to the path. Lusivan growled and leapt between Elminith and the bushes, determined to protect her from whatever it was. His determination was not in the least dampened by the fact that he tripped over his too big feet on landing and smacked his jaw on the ground.

Lusivan was startled and a little scared when something dark shot out of the bushes and then back in again. He didn't get a good look - he just knew it was dark and had four legs. Now there was thrashing noises in there. He resumed growling, louder this time, looking almost comical in his protective stance.

Elminith couldn't help but giggle. From her taller vantage, she had seen exactly what had happened. Another little jivvin - and it looked familiar, too. Was it Beta's? SHe thought so, and looked around, hoping to see her old friend.

Eminith grinned. It looked like she was right. The young woman waved to the ghost

"She's over here! I think she's stuck in the bushes." Turning to her own little jivvin, she added, "Lusivan, it's perfectly all right. All that's in those bushes is another jivvin like you."

Lusivan stopped growling immediately, his expressian changing from scared defiance to curiosity and interest. He moved forward and sniffed at the bushes (and their occupant), then yelped and jumped back again when a branch poked him in the nose.

Lusivan made a funny squeaking noise when he was pounced on, and as Diciembre was distracted by the humans, he made ready to pounce back. He aimed carefully for that waving tail....

Elminith grinned at Betami. "You needn't looks like she got out on her own!" She knelt down and settled to watch the two jivvins play.

...And Lusivan made the leap, successfully pinning the other jivvin's tail!

Lusivan blinked, then his eyes narrowed. Going for his tail again, was she? Well, she wasn't the only one who could do so! He twisted around and went after her tail again, batting at it and trying to pin it down in vain, as she kept moving himself. Of course, with all his twisting, HIS tail wasn't going to be easy to snag either.

Elminith giggled. They were just like a pair of kittens she'd seen once, utterly focused on each other's tails. She remembered they'd chased each other around in circles for hours. "Yes, it would seem they do! I'm glad, it would be horrible if they hated each other."

Thoroughly in hunting mode now, so to speak, Lusivan went over within a few feet of Dici's route, then settled down, preparing to pounce when the tail he sought came within single-leap range...

Elminith grinned. She knew this strategy - he'd used it several times when she played with him. He had more patience than one would expect in one so young.

Elminith grinned back at the ghost. THey hadn't known each other when they were truly young, but they had told each other enough tales that Min understood her friend completely.

Lusivan blinked when he saw Dici changing tactics and leaping at him. It triggered his 'pounce' response, though, and they collided in midair, landing in a muddled pile. The cream-colored jivvin was about to back out of the pile, making muttering noises, when he realized that his nemesis, that great blue-black tail, was right before his face. With a look of glee, he pinned it down, never realizing that his own tail was equally endangered.
