Magazine cover.
Part about Panic... and also here.
Panic At The Disco about the new album, their life and their fans.
The boys from Panic At The Disco are everything but boring. We experienced that too while we were interviewing them in London. Brendon and co were very fierce, but luckily more than willing to answer our questions.
Your album ‘Pretty. Odd.’ Will come out next week. You finished the record at Abbey Road Studios, where legends like The Beatles have also recorded some records. A big honor? Jon: Yes, the funny part is that a lot of people also say that you can hear influences from The Beatles on Pretty. Odd. Awesome!
The tracks on ‘A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out’ had really long titles, such as ‘I Write Sins, Not Tragedies’. Why didn’t you do that with the tracks on Pretty. Odd. ? Brendon: We didn’t do it intentionally on A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out, actually. But we did realise that it was really irritating for radio announcers who often screwed up when they had to announce our songs.
Do you guys ever screw up on stage? Brendon: All the time! Jon: I totally fell on my face once. I wanted to be all badass and jump off something on stage, but instead of just landing on my feet, I landed with my face on Ryan's keyboard in the middle of song. When I got up, I realized my bass was broken. Embarrassing! Spencer: I hit myself in the face with my drumsticks all the time. No one ever sees it, but I'm always really embarrassed anyway. Ryan: A while ago one of our dancers' hair got stuck on my guitar. She fell and a whole chunk of hair was hanging in the guitar, it was horrible! (all four laughing)
Were you able to keep yourself serious at a moment like that? Ryan: Yeah, I was making painful faces because I could imagine how she felt.
You guys have tons of female fans. Do you ever get indecent proposals? Jon: No not really. Our fans are really sweet. The other day a fan sent me a bottle of Jack Daniels, and I get socks all the time because I once said I wanted to be able to wear a different pair of socks every day. Ryan: We don't have any creepy fans who stalk us or anything. Brendon: No, sadly. But there was a girl once who wanted my heart, literally! With a heart transplant. I found that rather disturbing, actually...
If you don’t get any indecent offers, then you have to chat up with girls yourself. How do you do that? Jon: We don’t chat up with girls because almost every one of us is already on ‘the black list’. Except for Brendon, we’re all taken. Brendon: Yup, I’m the only one who is single. But most girls can’t handle me: I’m too rough for them. (laughs) Ryan: (sarcastic) Yeah, as if that’s the reason… Spencer: I don’t have trick to chat up with girls either, except for alcohol, a lot of alcohol. Not for the girl, though but for myself. When you’re drunk, you got more courage to walk up to a girl. Jon: I think that girls should offer guys a drink more often. Girls love it when you buy them a drink, but they never to the same thing. That bothers me quite a bit. If they want the same rights as guys by any means, then they should buy guys a drink too. (they all laugh)
Are there other things that bother you? Jon: I hate it when you pick up a sandwich at your regular sandwich bar and they prepared your sandwich in a different way. You’re looking forward to that one kind of sandwich and then they used a different sauce. Irritating! (the others roll their eyes) Brendon: I think it’s awful to enter a colder bathroom after taking a long shower. I love to take really hot showers and the difference in temperature is always horrible afterwards.
Are there any celebrities that make you want to puke? Brendon: Pete Wentz is a nasty dude! No, just kidding. He's really cool. Ryan: In America there are a lot of people who do absolutely nothing and are famous anyway. That's ******** up. Like look at Paris Hilton... Spencer: Or ******** Lindsay Lohan's dad. He says he doesn't want to be famous, and yet you still see his annoying face all over TV.
What do you want written on your tombstones? Jon: Live free, die hard. Spencer: Here lies Spencer Smith... why not? Brendon: Drop acid, not bombs! I like to promote peace. The problem in this world is that everyone is always too serious, according to me.
Do you have any wise advice for our readers? Jon: Don't be an a*****e.
Thank you for the interview, guys. Brendon: No, thank you for tolerating all our idiocy!

I don't think they would have said some of those things if it had been an American magazine. Like "********", they probably figured it would get 'lost in translation', you know? xp Or the things about Paris Hilton and Lindsey Lohan...
