So, my mom and her boyfriend recently started having sex, and they've chosen to use toys, so they've been using lube too. A week or so after they'd had sex for the first time, my mom got a nasty yeast infection. After two more such yeast infections, my mom's boyfriend realized that the glycerin--glycerin is mostly made of sugar, yeast's favorite food--in the lube was probably causing it, since my mom is prone to getting yeast infections. Yeast is all over the place in the human body. Have any of y'all heard of anything like what happened to my mom before? I'm pretty much throwing this out there for y'all to munch on, I suppose. Enjoy munching! ^ ^
PS-My mom told me all of this, and she gave me permission for me to tell y'all.

Sounds like it's pretty natural. I've heard of some people having problems with certain foods when they incorporate foods and sweets into their sex, because of the sugars and other things within the food. Usually they just advise you to be careful, or to just clean up really well once you're done, and to not leave it on the skin.
My boyfriend and I, for example, discovered that if we use a certain brand of lube and don't wipe it all off right after, he gets a rash. So we can use it, but we just have to be careful to clean up well afterwards.
Maybe they can switch lube brands? Or talk to a doctor and see what they advise?

Yes, I have heard of it. It is not uncommon. Oil-based lubricants can cause infections, so can sugary lubricants. As Nikolita said, they can trying switching to another kind.
Your mother should talk to her doctor about it if she hasn't already though. Frequent infections can sometimes be a sign of a larger problem.
