I've been thinking more about the fashion lately, and as I was pondering with my imagination and ideas, I thought of this topic. I was actually dreaming or hoping that there would actually and possibly be an actual academy based on the fashion; it may teach the same subjects and qualifications, yet they study more of the art, musical and of course, the fashion itself. How I picture it, it would have a fancy touch to how Lolita's wants it to be. The teachers themselves would have the attire, yet I wonder if the gender really matters? I think it was in the Rules/Info thread where it mentioned that men in Lolita would be frown upon by Japan, so that made think a little.
Overall, Lolita's in the United States and other nations can be so rare so with something like this, it could unify the Lolita's. XDD
I don't know, it was just a random thought or wish that it was possible.

What do you think of it? Or maybe you have/had a[n] crazy idea about something else?

I'm sorry if this is in the wrong forum, by the way. :o

I dunno, having a normal academy with more focus on the arts (and perhaps somewhat lolita-inspired uniforms) would be fine, but actually teaching about the fashion itself would be going overboard. After all, it's a school, not a photo-shoot. It would also have to be wildly expensive if lolita clothing was required, seeing as how just one dress can cost so much.

On the other hand, I think a story about a lolita inspired academy would make an excellent manga! Perhaps you should write it?

Also, maybe the male students could wear the boy form of lolita (I think it's called kodona, but I can't remember at the moment... sweatdrop ). Of course I suppose they could choose to wear dresses instead it they wanted to. We won't judge! mrgreen

I have crazy dreams about this kind of stuff all the time... I often dream of owning a giant lolita-themed mansion! It would have a big ballroom surrounded by Rococo paintings and have antique furniture in every room! And even a huge Alice in Wonderland themed garden! (Okay, I have officially left reality...)

Definitely awesome as a webcomic or something, but it'd kind of suck for a real school.. I mean, what the hell could you do with a Degree in Lolita?

Yeah lol true, what I meant by teaching Lolita though is by sewing dresses to actually live without being deprived with the expense of money and may/may not be a requirement as a class; just like an elective or so. However, you've got your point, the mandatory use of Lolita dresses is iffy to all students, it'd be hectic for many Loli's.

That's a good idea, I've always wanted to make a manga ever since; oh who knows, maybe we could all work together to form the plot and get the fashion/Lolita rules right, since I'm quite fresh to the vogue. ^^;;

Yes, I've heard of Kodona; that'd be neat. 8D

LOL, you put a good ending to your last paragraph. Don't worry, it happens to me too. ^^ hahaha, judging my "dream date" from that thread, I have my wild dreams too, thus I'm sure that the others may be the same.

Yeah, having it for reality is going overboard I guess, unless someone pulls it off really well with a firm organization and preparation. Well, it's not really a degree in Lolita, it could be the same as other schools with endorsements and scholarships, though...it can be optional, lol. Actually, I never gave thought to that. >XD;; Nice point there, same with Chew. :]

Actually, more emphasis on Home Ec. class would be good for an academy that focuses so much on the arts, and designing a lolita dress could act as your final exam!

If you need help with a plot for the manga, you can always PM me for ideas! I want to be a manga writer when I'm older, so I may as well start now! mrgreen I'm also fairly knowledgeable on the fashion itself, though I don't claim to be an expert or anything, so I could help with that too.

I constantly space out while I'm sitting in bed and trying to sleep, and I just start imagining extravagant buildings, fashions, and fantasies. It gets in the way of sleep, but I love it anyway! If I ever get super rich (haha, yeah right!) I would totally build that Alice in Wonderland garden.

Uhhh yeah. If it's not some kind of roleplay or something, that'd be type-creepy.

Many of the things you listed can be learned at a regular art school... the only thing is that you could learn a broad form of fasion design... you really don't need a class focused on the 'finer' points of lolita... I my self plan on going to an art school to learn to be a chief and learn some basic fashion design ... so a ' Lolita Only' school is not really necessary when we already have a type of college that will cover many of what you want.... a nice thought though.... but most of us wouldn't be able to go anyways do to the over all cost... sweatdrop ... so... kinda not practical.

I think some kind of Lolita themed "Summer School" would be really awesome~ Like how some colleges offer summer classes for highschoolers, it could be a Lolita Summer School. x3

I think an entire, real school would be either totally awesome, or really creepy. ^^;

That would make a really cool manga! You could maybe have the main character be a boy who crossdresses to be a lolita and enters the school as a girl......as per normal hilarity ensues!!! HAHAHA
the only reason i say a boy should be the main char is because im really sick of all the cutsie mangas that are so fun being centered around dumb girls!

(i am a girl btw)

I'm not alone!
I've had the thought of this for a while.
A school where those of the Rococo spirit come together, and the lolita call it their Eden.
Classes with an emphasis in cooking, sewing, and etiquette.
Lunches in the form of tea parties with little cucumber sandwiches.
Divine.

Of course, it's impractical in today's world. Not enough people would sign up for it, it would be expensive, etc...

But perhaps you could have something like this as a panel at an anime convention. These past few years you'll find that Lolita have slowly taken hold; at FanimeCon this past weekend there were hundreds of Lolita walking around. It was lovely. <3
