I'm not sure if this should go here
It's about a philosopher, so I guess that goes under beliefs.
confused
I'm going to keep this short.
I love Friedrich Nietzsche as a philosopher.
It's great because he was into aphorisms so much that people don't have to read large, monotonous texts to see his point of view or find some insight.
It's amazing how much he could say in such few words.
These are my favorite quotes and aphorisms...
"In the end one loves one's desire and not what is desired."
"If we live together with another person too closely, what happens is similar to when we repeatedly handle a good engraving with our bare hands: one day all we have left is a piece of dirty paper. The soul of a human being too can finally become tattered by being handled continually; and that is how it finally appears to us--we never see the beauty of its original design again."
"There are no facts, only interpretations."
"A casual stroll through the lunatic asylum shows that faith does not prove anything."
"No price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself."
"One must have a good memory to be able to keep the promises one makes."
"The advantage of a bad memory is that one enjoys several times the same good things for the first time."
"There is always some madness in love. But there is also always some reason in madness."
"What is done out of love always takes place beyond good and evil."
Now that I think of it, I don't think there is any Nietzsche quote that I can't count as a favorite.
I love them all... (but I'm not going to put them all here of course)
