My BF is new to reading DN and watching it on Adult Swim, he thinks Ryuk's voice is not the way it should be/the way he imagined it in the book. I think he's wrong. But what do you think?

Ryuuk's voice was given that proper sly, gritty, playful quality. I think it works well. Where other voice actors turned out horrible, Ryuuk was one of the few to remain relatively intact.

I think Ryuk was one of the better-dubbed voices in the anime.

I really don't like the anime in English at all. So that includes Ryuk's voice.
