Today, Angelic Pretty announced that they are going to be opening their overseas, in-English shopping cart system in approximately a month! This is fabulous news for fans of the brand who aren't in Japan, since it means that they'll be able to gain access to AP clothing without paying extra fees to a shopping service!
So, my questions for all of you today:
How do you feel about Japanese brands opening to overseas sales? Are you excited about AP's new shopping cart system coming out? + If so, are you planning to order anything from them when it opens? Is there another brand you'd like to see following AP's example?
[edit]: The shop is now open! (:
Personally, I'm thrilled about the new opening as it will is helping to get yet more exposure for the style in the US. I'd be thrilled if other brands [such as a few of the classical brands like Mary Magdalene or Victorian Maiden] were to jump on the bandwagon and start offering overseas shipping as well. I'm really hoping that this new venture on AP's part is a success and that they don't regret having made the choice. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on that site even more, now.

I am absolutely excited about AP going overseas since now I can get purses and shoes from them while hoping they have pieces that fit more.
Amani: Lol Simply26 Macro for the win!

-Lolita_Kana- I am absolutely excited about AP going overseas since now I can get purses and shoes from them while hoping they have pieces that fit more. Amani: Lol Simply26 Macro for the win! Amen to that. Out of all of the brands I see releasing accessories, it's always AP's that I drool over most [well, aside from Meta's apple earrings and necklace and a few of their other bits of jewelry]. They're so cute and colorful.

Sweet. I used to be a big fan of sweet brands, especially Baby. But ever since Baby lost Novala and that Elizabethan collared one piece arrived, my heart hasn't been the same. I might come back to Angelic Pretty and sweet lolita again.
Now, if only Mary Magdalene and Victorian Maiden shipped overseas too

I most certainly plan on buying! Just... when I get the money. XD But it's due to open right after my birthday, so hopefully I'll have some funds.

How do you feel about Japanese brands opening to overseas sales? ~~~~~Im happy that they are broading their horizons! Thats what you call good buisness! In teh sense that they are doing good and stuff... Are you excited about AP's new shopping cart system coming out? ~~~~~Totally, I just hope they have just as many clothes to offer as their japanese shopping cart system. + If so, are you planning to order anything from them when it opens? ~~~~~AHHHH Mais Oui!!! Ive been having my eye out for their bunny headdress (the one with the bunny imprints on the side) and their bunny themed polka dotted jumper) Is there another brand you'd like to see following AP's example? ~~~~~Mary Magdalene or Victorian Maiden, we need some classic brands to open overseas! Weve got all the sweet lets bring in some of the classics XP

I wish....America had Lolita stores like AP. I have to get everything on Ebay or online stores which due to a trust issue I have....I dislike...But where I live...Spokane Washington...will never get anything sort of Lolita store...Like Angelic pretty. Not jsut that....but because of the online buying...they over price the shipping because it's not Taxed on ebay so they get most of there pay out of it...then...I only get a dress once a year for Sakura-con....And the last one my mom got the messurments(...did I spell that wrong?) for the dress wrong! And I turned out not ot like it anyway. I want to be able to see the dress...try it on if I can...feel the fabric...make sure it's supple...and not have to pay shipping cost! crying

Well, it's pretty much common knowledge that eBay stores are a bunch of rip-offs with the exception of like, 2 shoe stores.
If a store opened closer to your area you'll have pay part of shipping either way. AND your state's clothing tax. So having a store near you would be a win-lose situation, with some of your concerns.

Right. Even when the BABY store opens in San Francisco, if I were to ever visit it I probably wouldn't end up buying anything unless it was a novelty item for that specific store. The cost of import duties that they pay, plus shipping, plus state tax and Japanese tax all on top of the original cost is murder on the pocketbook. The girls who shop at the Paris store have mentioned this quite often as a problem--well, those that aren't mentioning the fact that many European nations charge between 30% and 50% customs on imported goods. Eesh.
In the end, unless you're in Japan, it's just cheaper and easier to buy online rather than go to a physical branch to buy things. So. AP's opening is rather exciting.
