 It was late at night. there was a rather strong breeze that caused the forest to come alive with sounds. a young pup was hiding under a bush. she had not been able to sleep because of all the noise. a gust of wind caused a near by tree to moan. the little pup jumped in fright and began to shake. she could hear voices somewere near by. where they real, or was she just imagening things.

 Faye could hardly believe how windly it was on this night. She had got restless and went out for a walk in the cold night. She didn't mind the cold wind blowing around her at all. She hardly even let it get to her as she hoped over a fallen log. She could have sworn that she had seen something moving just infront of her but she was not sure if it was just the wind or not.

tanzy poked her head out at the sound of foot steps. she thought she could see something moving close by, but was it was to dark for her to see anything. she pulled her head back into the bush and closed her eyes hoping that when she opened them again the night would be over.

Faye was now sure that she had seen something and carefully moves forward towards a bush. She uses a paw to move the bush a little and saw a young pup. Curling around the bush a little to block the wind she said softly. "Are you lost little one?" She was worried about one being so young and alone.

tanzy opened her eyes to see another dragonfly curled around the bush. she was so shocked that she jumped up and gave out a soft but sharp bark. she ran out from under the bush into the fallen log and curled up into a ball. she closed her eyes and began to cry. tonight was not a good night.

Faye jumped when the pup let out a little bark. She watched it run away and hide in a new place. She sighed and layed down where she was and spoke again softly. "Don't worry little one. I'm not here to hurt you in any way. This is not a good night for someone so young to be alone... It is cold and scary in a unknown world."

tanzy began to hear voices again. they sounded mad at her, and then she heard a soft kind voice asking her something. she got up and peeked out of the log. there lay the dragonfly that she had just run away from. she was not sure if she could trust the adult, but it was so cold and scary. tanzy creeped out of the log and sat next to the adult. "can i please stay with you tonight? its so scary and loud." she jumped again at the sound of a branch falling somewere far away, and shoved her face into the females fur.

Faye smiles softly at the pup's question then curls around the pup to keep the wind off of her. "You can stay with me until the wind dies down if you would like. I know how scary this world can be when you are alone." She hums softly to keep the sound of the wind away. "As scary as the wind sounds on a cold night. The wind also has a soft side when it brings the warm air in the day when the sun is shining away."

tanzy felt comferted by the soft humming of the adult. she curled up into the females warm side and closed her eyes. she focused on the humming and soon enough that was the only thing that she could hear. the wind and the voices seemed to fade away. tanzy was lulled into a soft sleep feeling the safest she had felt in a long time.

Faye was happy to see that the pup had felt safe at her side. She kept humming and looked around the area. It really was not the best place for a pup. So many trees and things that made strange noises in the dark. She remembered when she hummed to Jacob to keep him clam on a stormy night. Looking down at the pup she smiles, she always loved to have pups near by.

tanzy began to have a dream. it was about the night that her mother left her. it was a hard dream to decifer, but non the less she knew what it was about. she saw her mother standing before her, then she felt pain. her mother was angry, why she could not remember, more pain came this time it was emotional. she saw an image of her mom leaving. through out her whole dream she heard what her mom had last said to her. there are no voices tanzy, its all in your head. then the nightmare was gone. tanzy woke up and saw the female. "you stayed with me?"

Faye had fallen into a light sleep during the night. Then the pup had woken up so did she. A soft smile on her face she nods. "I couldn't just let you be in the cold night. It is always a good thing to have someone close." Her body had gotten a little sore because she had not wanted to move it, but she would get over that soon.

tanzy felt a warmth spread through her body at what the adult had said. "i would not know about having someone close." she did not want to have to think about her mom, so she abruptly changed the subject. "my name it tanzy, do you have a name?" she smiled and wagged her tail. the breeze begining to die down a little as it became closer to morning.

Faye cuddles the pup for a moment. "My name is Faye. And I don;t think I could ever go on without having someone close. It is always a good feeling to have someone to keep you safe. Even as an adult I still want others to be around..." She laughed a little at that thought.

tanzy was shocked. she had never met a dragonfly that wanted others around. "wow, i wish there were others that were more like you. if everyone wanted someone to be around then no one would be lonely." one of the voices in her head laughed so hard that tanzy could not help but laughing also.
