As far as I know, their relation to any of the other characters has never been confirmed.

I'm not sure, but I always thought they were perhaps the evil step or half brothers of Mario and Luigi. I know that Wario and Waluigi are the exaggerated forms of the Mario brothers. -With Mario being quite short and fat, Wario is really short and fat. Luigi being tall and skinny, Waluigi is really tall and skinny. But I wonder if Wario and Waluigi are plumbers aswell? I mean they wear the overalls. confused

Maro and Luigi are brothers
I always thought of them as sort of cousins.
Dont know if thats right, though I seem to recall something along those lines.

I'm pretty certain there is no relation. Mario and Luigi are brothers, but Wario and Waluigi have no relation at all to them, or each other that we know of. They are simply the "rivals" of the Mario Brothers.

Maro and Luigi are brothers
I always thought of them as sort of cousins.
Dont know if thats right, though I seem to recall something along those lines. wario and WARluigi could be step brothers, hence why waluigi has an equal awesomeness as luigi.

I think i'd go with older brothers that grew up the wrong way, then a divorce happened, then mario and luigi happened. but this brings up a new question: Whos the parents?

I always assume Wario and Waluigi are just evil versions of Mario and Luigi. They aren't related to each other though. Personally, I'm waiting for Princess Weach.
