A lot of my more recent art has been avi art and here are some of my favorites. I'm interested in critique because I want to improve. Also I'd love suggestions for backrounds (something I definetly need to work on). Thanks in advance for your feedback! biggrin http://anime-frog.deviantart.com/art/Catrina-for-Nissachan-74645692 http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z11/Chey_girl/DreamChans.jpg Here she has no skin tone because I wanted her tooth fairy eyes to stand out more.

hm, these are some nice drawings. you've got creative poses (which are hard and annoying to do!), and for the most part they look pretty loose and natural, which is also difficult to do.
if it were me, my next step would be to add shading and depth, or, if you're really ambitious, backgrounds. but i think shading would be better for a next step.
also, (this is something i struggle with) don't be afraid to get DARK. you can try using ballpoint pen to help you get used to the darker tones, because they DO have a place in drawing. it's hard to know when it's enough, or when it's not enough (because all to often it's hard to go back if you've put too much shading in it).
but these are really cool. moar.

I'm with Kirio on this. You've got some talent, now you just need to work on some of the other elements.
I'm thinking shading should be your next step. Go for dark, go for bold, play with the colors. Press that pencil down and layer colors upon one another, then step back and take a look at the monster you've created. (It's ALIIIIIIVE! MWAHAHAHAHAHA! Ok, yes, I'm tired... I shouldn't type when I'm like this. xd )
Seriously, though. Don't be afraid. And don't forget to show us your new pics when you finish 'em. 3nodding

Thank you both so much! I really appreciate your tips. That's what I'll work on. We were just working on that in my class too (with the sphere and the cube). Again thanks.

well, the drawing classes will teach you the basics and once you understand that, everything else comes easy, with practice that is. haha.
as a freshmen in college majoring in illustration, you have a pretty good start for a freshmen in high school. i would hate to see your talent go to waste
