Article here - source: patdonline
So in the January issue of Kerrang!, Panic! talked about some of their song titles for the new album.
There's: Nine In The Afternoon Middle of Summer (Ryan did say that it's tentatively titled that.. so I guess it could change still.) Famous Friends (this is a song about a girl Brendon knew when he was 16. He "thought she was cool for, like, a month, and then it it turned out she was all about name-dropping.") Things Have Changed (about things that have changed. Surprise surprise.)
And then there's We're So Starving, but that wasn't mentioned in the article. So it seems like most of the titles are related to the songs or a line from the song... kind of disappointing sad But as long as the songs are good, I'm happy.
Ryan also said "A lot of this record is kind of dark, too." That has me pretty curious. What we've heard so far is anything but dark.

Dark things? I haven't heard of any yet. Wait one second. This was an issue for this January? As in 2008 January? I'm gonna read that now. >.<

Ohhh, the titles look really short. xp Maybe some of the other song titles are longer? Eh, anyway, ahhh I'm so excited for the album to come out! Some of the topics of their songs sound kind of interesting, like "Famous Friends". Yeah, and I don't really see what's so dark about what has been mentioned in this album... I guess we'll have to just wait to find out!
EDIT: Woah, I just looked at that little article thingo, and they kind of look more... mature. confused And what kind of t-shirt is Ryan wearing?! Lol, anyway, I'm glad to see that Ryan has his famous 'ol grey jacket back!

I love how Brendon said, "We were back to our first practice space on the same street that we were when we wrote the first record. We all sat back and were like, 'You do realize this is weird, we're back at the same place and we have nothing, no new material, we have to write all new stuff.'" xd That's my favorite part. <3
I'm sort of confused by how Ryan said the new album is "dark." I thought they wanted this album to be happier...? Hmm.
About the song titles...I don't really mind them. Yeah, they're short...but they're not bad. Of course, I don't really go for the titles "Nine In The Afternoon" or "Middle of Summer" because they're lyrics stolen straight from the song...but I can live. I mean, they obviously made the titles shorter just for conveinence and from learning the lesson about having long song titles. xd I dont think they are shorter because they're being lazy or anything like that...

I love that gray jacket. And so does Ryan, obviously. And I think he's just wearing a button down shirt with one crazy pattern on it. I don't know but it looks good. Ryan wins the best dressed award.
I don't mind so much if the song titles are short... short can be interesting too. I mean, Camisado is only one word. It's just the fact they're actual lines in the song that disappoints me.
But hey, in a way, maybe they're just being original again. Because nowadays tons of bands are doing the crazy-long-seemingly-unrelated-song-title-thing. So maybe they're going back to 'normal' titles right as everyone else stops having 'normal' titles, which makes them unique! A step ahead of the game wink
... Or maybe I just really need a reason to defend them xp
