I personally think that Abortion is murder, cause the heart is beating therefore it is alive, their nerves and veins are pumping and in use so that is alive, even if it is still in the mommy's stomach, if you kill it, then it never gets to see the world.

I think it is very important how far along the baby is, I believe it is 19 weeks when the baby gains sentience, when I believe a being has a "soul" of such and believe anything past this week is murder. I am not sure when the heart starts beating, but if the abortion took place before then would you be ok about it? I think before sentience and vital parts of the brain grow abortion is ok as it is no different to having a tumour growth removed. The only difference between a baby and a growth at that point is potential to become a baby. Would you consider it murder because it has the potential to become a living creature? Allowing potential into ure morality set is tricky though, as there are near ifinite possiblities and potentials and it is difficult to make descions based upon it. Wow, I really channeled that Philosophy AS Level! A few thoughts for people to ponder on!

I wouldn't call it murder... I honestly don't know what to call abortion. I for one am against going about it if I ended up pregnant, but otherwise I have no say in what a woman can do with her body.

This is world is suffering a terrible population problem and many are dying from starvation. If we ban abortion then the population will only grow. And i believe it is a woman's choice. If having a baby will ruin her life and get in the way of her future then she deserves the right to choose to have an abortion. It's her choice not ours. And no its not murder.

I speak from experience!! I had one abortion when I was 16!! I do beleve its murder and I regret every second of it as soon as I felt how wonderful it is to have my sons!!! I would go back in time and change everything.... I do beleve that god wants that life here for a reason and if you go against him you will pay, carma is a b***h... If I knew then what I know now, I would of faced my fears and given that child a chance sad

It's a perfect denial... Is this including the babies that will be born without a heart or a brain and will at most live a horrible pain filled existence for a month? Or the situation where if the mother has the child it will kill her? Or it might kill both her and the baby? What if the mother will be kicked out of her house if she has the baby? At what point does it stop being a mass of cells and turn into a baby? At the point of fertilization? When it develops a beating heart? Just because it's heart is beating doesn't mean it's a baby or a person. The brain is what does that. Anencephaly is where a baby has no forebrain, and are usually blind, deaf, unconscious, and unable to feel pain. Should a child like that be brought to full term and born? Take into account the psychological pain that this may bring to the mother, the father, and the doctors and nurses that will be involved in it's care. EDIT: Also, what about before it has a heartbeat?

It is...but I don't think it is wrong. Because the baby would be born and the person wouldn'r be able to take care of it.

This issue is a very touchy subject, a lot of emotion is tied to it just like the whole religious debates that I've been in. I can only provide my simple belief on the matter. I'm a firm believer in reaping what you sow. If a woman and a man think that they are mature enough to have sex then they should be able to take on the responsibility to take on the child. I'm no religious nut on the issue of premarital sex but in all seriousness giving these people an easy out is not going to encourage any changing in the moral stance of these kids. They will just keep going and going without worry of consequence. I find it wrong that these people don't learn any lesson, I want them to screw up their lives and see the consequence of their actions. I don't want a sort of get out of jail free card for the irresponsible and the foolish. So yes they should have the child, they should be expected to raise the child, and they should understand the consequences of their actions.
Now on the other hand, rape. I say get rid of the kid if its rape. Its not the woman's fault, she did no wrong so why should she pay for such an action. If its life endangering that is also acceptable, in the end we have to look out for number one, that's bare human instinct. Also if the child is going to be suffering beyond what any human should suffer I say euthanize the poor thing. Its not giving the child a chance by putting it through a hell on earth all their lives. Its called selfishness on the parents part. The guarantee of heaven will not be taken from the child and look at it like this. Jesus Christ took all of your sins on himself so you can get into heaven. If you have some issues about it, look at it like this. You take on a sin so that your child can get to heaven.
On a political note
Also I want to say to those pro-life supporters who support the war in the Middle East or other U.S. led campaigns are filthy hypocrites. You stand so firm against a medical procedure but you support the bombing of little babies inside their own homes before they get a chance at life, its tragic irony. But that's all I have to say on that note.

I take the stand with Rome on this one.
An unborn fetus is technically alive whenever the mother first becomes aware of its presence.
The only instance in which I support abortion is when the mother to the child was a victim of rape or incest.
It was mentioned earlier that "what if the baby was missing [insert part here]". A friend of my husband's family has a child that they were told would die within the second trimester. It didn't. Then they were told he would die once he was born; he didn't.
The little fellow is two years old now, and granted, he's a little slow. That aside, he's one of the happiest toddlers I've ever seen. Jonathon is a smiley little thing that lights up an entire room. If his parents had decided to abort him because he was "going to die", it obviously wouldn't be the same.
If a child is meant to be on this planet, it will survive the birthing process and go on to live. If not, it will either die after birth or the pregnancy will end in a miscarriage.
I doubt that many of the people who read this are of child-bearing age or are mothers/fathers themselves, but it's a beautiful thing to have a kid of your own. From the time I was about two months pregnant, I was all smiles. Hell, I was singing to my stomach in the shower before I even had that tell-tale bump.
Know this, if any of you girls do ever get pregnant, think about it before you decide to get an abortion. Mother and baby share a bond that is formed right away. If you decide to end the pregnancy, that bond is still there even though the child isn't.
People I know who've had abortions regret it because they have a spot in their psysche that is reserved for a child that isn't there. One of them comes to our doorstep every year on the date that her baby was supposed to have been born and cries her eyes out.
