No he's not. He can't be. Absolutely not. I do not believe it. Please please noooo..... crying Besides, I read this interview about him once from before he was Doctor Who, and he was saying how being Doctor Who would absolutely be his dream job. And now he is Doctor Who, so he can't leave.

Where did you get this information. stare
I've read that he's contracted up through 2009... so he's not leaving anytime soon. Although, I did read that on wikipedia... neutral

From the Scottish Sunday Mail, 16/12/07:
Time Lord David to quit Tardis
David Tennant is set to quit as Doctor Who, it was claimed yesterday. The Scots actor has been a hit since taking over from Christopher Ecclestone two years ago. But Cathering Tate - who will play his helper in the fourth series of the revived sci-fi - told Radio 2's Jonathan Ross he could be quitting. Tate, 39, said: "I think it's maybe David's last series." Comedian Tate, who made her Doctor Who debut in last year's Christmas Special, will join Freema Agyeman in the Tardis for the new run. She told Ross that Paisley-born Tennant, 36, would "possibly" be back as the time lord in a series of specials in 2009. The fifth series of the BBC1 hit has been put off until 2010 as Tennant has stage commitments.

There are rumours every week that Tennant is quiting. *yawns* I tend to not believe anything until the BBC confirm it.
Plus, I heard he's not leaving until atleast 2010. Doctor Who is only doing 3 specials in 2009 BECAUSE Tennant is busy doing Shakespeare stuff. So, evidently he isn't leaving until atleast after 2009 anyway.

Ah, yes, the perennial rumor about David Tennant leaving the series. It's just like the seasonal debate on whether or not Brett Favre is leaving the Packers. It crops up every single year.
I'll just wait until I hear one way or another from the BBC itself.
And even if he is going to leave, so what? Changing Doctors is a part of the show. I love David Tennant as much as the next girl, but the moment it becomes the "David Tennant Show" is the moment it stops being Doctor Who. This is a show that should never be dependent on any single actor or actress. That's the nature of the beast and a part of the reason I love it so. I will be quite upset if Tennant's leaving means the end of the show because that is not how it should be.
Berz.

I read that he doesn't want to keep doing the role because he doesn't want to only be known for his sci-fi roles since he's the Doctor and Barty Crouch Junior. I also read that he's doing Hamlet.

As fun as the rumor mills are, we should just wait for confermation.

Anyway, the doctor has to regenerate SOME day! But take it easy people, wikipedia is not always right. Wait 'till BBC confirms it! But of course, it will be sad if Tennant leaves!

Isn't it after Series 5 that Russell T. Davies is leaving? I thought I remembered reading that, which might lend more weight to the rumors of Tennant leaving.

Just my humble opinion, though. Berz.

Yeah, you have a point.. but he has his great moments and when they come it's fantastic! But yes, other times his lines are kinda weak.. but he has made some great doctor-who episodes! (and other stuff)

David Tennant will have had three seasons as the Doctor after this next one, which isn't bad for Doctor Who. I thought he was staying in 2009 because the show is being put on a weird schedule (ie. all specials) because of his other plans. I'm not going to believe the rumors until the BBC actually comes out and confirms them.
