So, who do you ship Toph with? She seems to be the only main character who hasn't been in a relationship. Tokka is a crush, as Negi would so neurotically remind me. The possibilities are endless... Taang, Toko, Tokka, Toroh, Teoph, Toru (Toph x Haru), etc. etc. etc.
Do I even need to say what I support? Seriously?
Tokka.
Surprising, I know. You'd never have guessed in a THOUSAND years.
Anyways, yeah. Who do you ship with Toph and why?

I support Toko. I know that the Maiko and the Tokka crush have all but killed it, but I have hope for interaction between them for the second half of the third season.
But still, even if no hints happen, Toko will always be my fav Toph ship. It will still survive as a crack ship, am I right?

Butterfly Nebula Do I even need to say what I support? Seriously? Tokka. Wha-!?! Seriously?! eek eek I-I... I don't even know you anymore. xd Taang - Number one on my list of ships. Toph was in a secluded life and knew very little of the outside world. Aang came along and freed her from that life style. So now I continue to think Aang can show Toph the world. Also, the whole opposites attract thing. I keep thinking the two could gain something form each other's personality. Aang can become a little more focused and Toph can be a little more playful... in the sense that her play doesn't require someone getting crushed by a boulder. Toko - My number one crack pairing that could happen. If something led to actual evidence of this ship, it would probably rank second on my real ships. They have similar personalities and seems to both be calming down in a way. They both have some strong connection with Iroh and seek advice from him. And I've said it before but can't you picture them both in royal clothing and standing together? It just seems to work. Of course for any of that to happen, lots of progress has to be made and Maiko and Tokka has to die. Well, here's hoping.... Tokka... while I acknowledge that Toph has a crush on Sokka (as Butterfly will love to point out) I really don't want them to be together. I just don't. They have more of a brother-sister relationship that seems to work. I just don't see Sokka seeing Toph that way either. As much as I hate to say it, I want Sokka to crush Toph's sweet heart. Toroh - Uh, wow, this one didn't even come to mind until now. I will see it as nothing more than the same kind of relationship between Zuko and Iroh minus the family connection. Anything else I consider to be crack. Teoph - Uhhhhhhhh.... no. Sorry, but as far as shipping goes with Toph, I see this as an Aang-substitute. He has a similar personality to Aang but he doesn't seem to be as serious as Aang at times. Toru - And we've reached the bottom of the list. No, just no. Thanks to the new beard, I keep thinking it as William Turner x Toph (TurnTop?). That just doesn't seem to fit together. Congratulate the creators because they came up with a shipping that, if I could only pick between the two, I would choose Tokka. And yes, in that scene in DoBS, I got worried. Um, wow, I just realized you listed my shippings for Toph in the order I like/accept them.

My personal thoughts on the other Toph ships (I'll spare you the Tokka-worship):
Taang - So much hate. Okay, I don't HATE it, I am just very... "WTF NO" about it. I don't like the connection. I think they're much much much better as friends. They just... they don't mesh the way a couple should.
Toko - Hm. I'm not... really... sure? I mean... I'd have to see it. Which, hah, I guess I will be. I try to look at ships singularly (in other words, ignoring the existence of Mai and Sokka), and... hm... I just don't know. I think there'd be too much friction. When he joins the Gaang, I predict her teasing him and him blowing up really easily. It's just like, he's too easy of a target for her not to poke. ^^
Tokka - biggrin DD Much love much love.
Tokoh - Haha okay, no. I think the friendship between them is incredibly kick a**, but I don't think that it will or could ever happen. ***** - ...I kinda like this one. xD; JUST A LITTLE. Like... I dunno, I think they'd look cute together. I'm not so sure on the actual connection.
Toru - I don't like this one. This is possibly even lower than Taang. (*collective gasp*) I got a really bad sense of foreboding about this one though, which is why I included it. It'd be so... BAD. It's like, "HAY I BEND ERTH DO U OLOL K LETS HAEV SEKS." It just seems like a cop-out pairing to me. Like, "Oh, we couldn't really find anyone for Toph, so we're gonna stick her with this random Earthbender."
(That's my main problem with Sukka, is that there's no one left for Toph. Kataang and Maiko are going to happen, sorry. Unless, like, someone dies.)
I forgot a pairing that I'm starting to warm up to a teensy bit: Dukoph! (The Duke x Toph.)
I kinda like it for reasons I don't even freakin' know. It's just like... eheh. Too many Smellershot/Freedom Fighters fanfics have painted a rather vivid portrait of The Duke in my mind. xD;
You know why I like Tokka? This isn't going to be a "OH EM GEE THEY SO KAWAII" kind of paragraph, don't worry. It's just because they fit one of my pairing archetypes. In almost every story I follow/like, I always like a certain kind of pairing. The main one is tomboy/different-girl x goofy guy. SERIOUSLY. Every. Single. Show. Almost very single pairing that I can think of that I actively support follows this archetype.
The other pairing tends to be the type of relationship where they've liked each other for EVERRR and are practically meant for each other but they're not saying anything about it. Also, it can't be too sugary. Maiko effectively fills this category.
Anyways... yeah. xD;

It was pretty much Sokka introducing Haru to Toph and lasted 5 seconds or less. The one thing that scares me about this was no one else was formally introduce to Toph like this so the scene just seems to stick out like a sore thumb and possible foreshadowing.

I totally agree with that!! biggrin You pretty much said it all! I love Taang to shreds. And I recently became an avid Taang supporter only a few weeks ago. And within those weeks, I grew to love the Taang ship more and more and more and more...and you get the picture. xD LOL.. I don't even know why I love it so much all of a sudden. I didn't even realize it was a ship until I heard about it and thought it was cute. And I didn't officially ship it until I read this extremely moving fanfiction that made me cry and vow to support Taang. xD;; Yeah, I am obsessed. But, I just love Taang!! Oh.. and I am not a fan of Tokka. At all. I think the crush on him is kinda cute smile But...the first ship I ever shipped was Sukka. So I am so not letting go of that. xD And even though I loooooove Taang...I think Teoph issooooooooo cute! But I doubt it's gonna happen since Toph doesn't even notice Teo and vice versa. They don't even talk, or at least, Nick never shows any connection happening. But I love Taang to bits!!

Toph's one of my favorite characters, and right now, I can't really see her with anyone in particular since she has such a strong and independent personality, but if she does end up with whomever, I hope it's a good match and not some "okay let's pair up" situation.
Anyway here's what I think of these particular pairings:
Taang - This pairing is so cute to me. I think it can work out with some effort from both of them. I like the opposite elements coming together. Plus, their personalities compliment each other. Aang needs someone to ground him, and Toph would benefit from Aang's fun-loving, optimistic personality.
Toko - Haha....I actually thought about this pairing. It will be very interesting to see how those two interact with each other when Zuko is seen as more of an ally than an enemy. I think that she will tease him and he will try not to lose his temper at her but fail. I could see Toph and Zuko becoming friends eventually. As for relationship wise....who knows? Anything's possible with Mike and Bryan...
Tokka - It's obvious that Toph has a crush on Sokka, but I doubt that her feelings are returned in that way. He may see her as more of a little sister. It could grow into something more, but as long as he is in love with Suki, I don't see it happening.
Toroh - Iroh and Toph are close in that I think she can see him as someone who is a calming factor in her life and a wonderful advice-giver.
Teoph - I don't really know what to say about this pairing. It could happen, but would there be anything to it? If they do try to make this one happen, hopefully it will be a gradual building of the relationship and not rushed.
Toru - I could see Haru as a one-time crush, and maybe they could exchange earth bending attacks, but I don't see this pairing go to far, if it even starts.

Oh, at first when I heard of Toko I wa like: WHAAAAT??!!? I though it was utterly disturbing. xD;;
But then I looked at some fanarts/fanvideos and thought Toko would be kind of funny. Haha funny. I mean, some of the art was HILARIOUS..LOL. But I honestly can't see it happening for real. I don't know.
xD;;
I don't ship Toko at all. I would rather have Teoph happen than Toko. (because of their ages)

Let's see...
Taang- I like this ship. In Seira's perfect Avatar world, Toph would end up with Aang, Katara with Zuko, and Sokka with Azula. >.>
Toko- Much more likely after 3.12, but it still seems kinda dumb.
Tokka- Sure, I guess that could work, and I can see shipping moments, but I still like Taang better.
Toroh- What the ********- No. No Tertiary character x Main character ships.
Toru- Uh, no?
