I really want to get it for Christmas though its unofficial. They're suppose to have essays and character analysis in it. hplexicon.com always had the most interesting Harry Potter essays.

I most definitely don't want to buy it - I've heard bad things, read bad reviews, and have seen the bad writing and poor completion of topics.

Also, this isn't the book by the HPlexicon site - that one has been halted. And I'm totally with JK on that (as long as it is too close to her charitable work). If it's complimentary, than I think that the courts will rule to allow it to be published.

My favorite complimentary books for HP are:
Mapping the World of the Sorcerer's Apprentice
The Ultimate Unofficial Guide to the Mysteries of HP, Books 1-4
The Ultimate Unofficial Guide to the Mysteries of HP - Book 5
Ultimate Unoffical Guide to the Mysteries of HP, Book 6

I recommend those, if you haven't read them. More concise and thorough (some may say too thorough) and they also help you to go through the book and discover things yourself. smile

Your right. I just bothered to look in it and its pretty bad. They don't go in depth about the characters. I think I'll ask for the Ultimate Unoffical Guide to the Mysteries of HP Book 6.

Wasen't Rowling supposed to write a encyclopedia herself? I'd rather buy the one that she is writing then an unofficial one. If I wanted unofficial I would just visit HPlexicon.

Yeah, that would be cool. It would be very useful for when someone asks a question on a forum or something and you can't quite remember the answer, so you look it up!

It's so tiring doing that. I've actually gone through 3 of the books once when trying to answer a question. xd

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I've been reading Harry Potter fan fiction. Anyway, back to the topic. I agree with Candy on this one. I would definitely prefer buy an "official" Harry Potter encyclopedia. It would be more in depth than an unofficial encyclopedia.

I don't want to read someone elses book about Harry Potter. Unless J.K. Rolling writes the encyclopedia, I'm not going to buy it.

Ya neither am I. I'm not paying for a bunch of peoples guesses no matter how accurate they are. Unless Jk.Rowling approved them herself, and all that.
