[PRP] First Meeting [Qin & Hsien-Ko]

[Chaifuzz]

Qin picked his way though the dense underbrush. It was a lovely morning for a walk. His ears pricked as a squirel scampered along the path in front of him. He chuckled and said, "You're a quick one." He inhaled deeply, the crisp air stung a bit in his lungs. He also smelled something else that he had never scented before. He took another sniff, a sweet scent flowed over him, the scent of another soquili. Curious, he walked a little quicker.

Qin quickened his pace into a fast trot, his hooves crushing the small undergrowth. A soft clip-clop rang as his hooves pounded against the dense forest floor. He could see a growing light up ahead, he must be aproaching a clearing. He broke through the trees and the sunlight blinded him for a few momments. He blinked, sun spots fading from his vision, and he saw her. A beautiful female soquili, he wondered why he hadn't fainted yet, then he remembered. This was Hsien-Ko, the mare he had met a few days ago, still, his knees wobbled at seeing her again. He smiled, and called out, "Hello Hsien-Ko."

A small red tinge started to creep onto Qin's cheeks, looking suspiciously like a blush, but he quickly hid it, and queried, "What brings you here?" The breeze whiped up again, tossing his tail and mane into his face. He stumbled, and fell over. He quickly stood back up again, his face now a fierce red in emberresment. He preened his mane back into place, and tentitivly looked back up at Hsien. He wondered if she was laughing inside.

Qin's ears pricked in delight, Hsien wanted him to walk with her. He almost pranced in place, but kept his excited hooves under control. "Of course!" He replied, hoping he didn't sound too eager. Play it cool. He told himself. He walked to her side and asked, "You like to fight?" That interested him.

Qin's own tail swished a bit in delight, Hsien liked to keep evil forces away as well. He wondered if Hsien would think he was odd, but decided that she would appreciate the utter truth. He replied, "I love a challange. If I can't have a challange or something exciting at least once a week I would waste away to nothing from boredom." He smiled pleseantly, as a bird chattered overhead.

Qin, who had been at least half alert, only waited a second before speeding off after Hsien. Strong legs pulled him along the ground, he was gaining on her. There was a bend in the path up ahead, but Qin had other ideas. He had noticed a small deer trail running through the bend. He galloped even faster, shifting into another gear, and sped through it. He figured that if Hsien had kept her pace, he would exit the trail a little behind her.

Qin broke though the end of the rabbit trail, and found himself right behind Hsien. Grinning, he shifted into yet another gear and pulled up even with her. "Lovely morning for a chase" He said, grinning. His chest was heaving, but he felt strong.

Qin grinned, and wondered if Hsien was still watching. Instead of stopping, he just used his body momentom to swing himself around in a slingshot routine, not wasting a second. He saw the broken branches where Hsien had entered the forest.

"Very sneaky Hsien, very" He called, a humerious note in his voice. He followed the path made by Hsien, then lost it on a rocky section of ground. Lifting his nose up to the air he inhaled deeply, looking for that sweet scent of earlier. He picked it up and trotted after it, it got steadily stronger. There was a dark clearing up ahead, was she there? He wondered. He picked up a steady canter and broke through the trees into the patch of clearing.

Qin gasped with playful indignance and said, "Well! If you were waiting so long why didn't you just let me find you!" He huffed, and grinned. It had been a most joyful morning. He looked Hsien over, the cool shadows cast a mysterious shadow on her. He shook his head, clearing it of the thoughts that had suddenly cluttered it up from looking at Hsien that way. He sighed contentidly as a coloney of birds chattered up above. He looked up as a sparrow flew past and a cool breeze blew. It was a wonderful day.

He looked back at Hsien again, humor and fun dancing in his eyes. He looked around and saw an apple tree, rare in this part of the forest. He walked over to it, but the lowest apple was still to high for him. He reared up and carefully placed his front hooves on the trunk, being careful not to snap it. He daintily picked two juicy red apples from it, then dropped back down to all four feet. He walked over to her and said, "Want one?"
