Alright.
This post has spoilers for all three books

I would just like to test a theory that just occurred to me about the level of acceptance for Jacob, and whether it could be related to the level of belief of Edward loving Bella in new moon. I hope that makes sense.
Could you please answer the following questions honestly (give a bit of detail perhaps)
1. Was Edward Cullen your Favourite Character in Twilight? If not who?
2. Did you believe that Edward still loved Bella when he left her at the beginning of New Moon?
3. Did you believe that Edward was coming back/ going to save her etc?
4. Did you warm to Jacob Black in New Moon when he helped Bella out?
5. Did you think he was a worthy replacement for Edward? Why or Why not?
6. Did you believe that Jacob deserved that kiss in Eclipse?
7. Do you want Bella to end up with Jacob or Edward? (Your answer shouldn't be Dependant on who you expect she will end up with)

Here are mine answers.
1. Was Edward Cullen your Favourite Character in Twilight? If not who?
My favourite was Edward, from the very first glare I was head over heels
2. Did you believe that Edward still loved Bella when he left her at the beginning of New Moon?
Yes, I did not doubt his love for a single moment. I couldn't believe how she accepted it so fully. Even I, the most paranoid person in the world would not have doubted his love
3. Did you believe that Edward was coming back/ going to save her etc?
Yes. Positive that he would come back
4. Did you warm to Jacob Black in New Moon when he helped Bella out?
Not really. Their relationship (even at friendship level) completely bore me. Then when he was at the movies, I became instantly enraged and didn't even want to keep reading.
5. Did you think he was a worthy replacement for Edward? Why or Why not?
Nope, not at all. But I didnt even think he would be a replacement, because I new Edward was coming back. As Ive mentioned elsewhere, he was merely a decoy for Bella
6. Did you believe that Jacob deserved that kiss in Eclipse?
No. He deserved a blow to the groin with a big, heavy pointy thing, then run over by a passing oil truck. He didn't even deserve the night snuggle
7. Do you want Bella to end up with Jacob or Edward? (Your answer shouldn't be Dependant on who you expect she will end up with)
I want her to end up with Edward. I need her to end up with Edward, otherwise I too will fall into a huge pit of depression.

Yes

Of course! He did that for her, so she could be happy and human and such. Stupid men running away from the gals who love them... stressed
3. Did you believe that Edward was coming back/ going to save her etc?
Actually, I believed he was secretly in Forks the whole time until I read the end of the book. sweatdrop So... yeah.
4. Did you warm to Jacob Black in New Moon when he helped Bella out?
I sorta felt "meh" about Jake in New Moon. It wasn't until Eclipse when I warmed up to him.
5. Did you think he was a worthy replacement for Edward? Why or Why not?
Only if Bella and Edward had never met. She could never be fully happy with Jacob, knowing what she could have had with Edward. And if Bella really does end up with Edward, I'm sure there'll be a small sad part of her that remembers what could have been with Jacob.
6. Did you believe that Jacob deserved that kiss in Eclipse?
Yes. It made Bella realize then and there she was also in love with Jake. Better finding out then instead of years later realizing it. Though that was VERY VERY CRUEL how he got it!!!!!
7. Do you want Bella to end up with Jacob or Edward?

Edward Cullen.. hmm.. Yes, I did like him. But, I've always liked Jasper Hale and Alice Cullen as well.

I never really did dislike Jacob Black. He was always a nice character to me.

He couldn't fully replace Edward, No. But, he was a great friend.

I've not gotten that far yet in Eclipse, but.. I've heard what he did.
She wouldn't have let him kiss her, so he had to force.
He had been waiting on that for a while, now, I'm supposing.

It wouldn't matter to me, really.
I just hope Jacob is still friends with Bella, in the end.
And, I hope Edward ends up with Bella.
My Mother wants Jacob to be with Bella, though.

1. Was Edward Cullen your Favourite Character in Twilight? If not who? Nope. It would be a hard choice between Angela, Alice, Jasper, pre-Eclipse Jacob Black, and Charlie. After the latest book, Jacob was cut out because, though amused by him throughout the books, the final word through his point of view in Eclipse's epilogue basically ruined it. Charlie and Angela have been underrated during the entirety of the series despite being useful at times, and I've always thought Alice and Jasper as great; Jasper only grew better after Eclipse. 2. Did you believe that Edward still loved Bella when he left her at the beginning of New Moon? To me, it was pretty obvious that yes, yes he did. Did I like it? No. I couldn't stand reading most of New Moon due to Bella's whiney behavior because of it. 3. Did you believe that Edward was coming back/ going to save her etc? Again, it was pretty obvious he would eventually do so, in my opinion. When did Bella prove capable of handling herself well enough? Besides, its the general rule of thumb for the main couple to get back together in the end somehow in this day and age of books. 4. Did you warm to Jacob Black in New Moon when he helped Bella out? I did, but with caution. The last thing we needed was for what could have been a good character to go goo-goo over main protagonist girl, and I was hoping maybe he could handle that borderline well enough to just be the comforting werewolf friend who happens to hate vampires that gets Bella to her feet while Eddy's gone; instead, Jacob turns into yet another plaything in this ridiculous love triangle around her who shows Edward's polar opposite side of the story. 5. Did you think he was a worthy replacement for Edward? Why or Why not? In most aspects, yes. I'd rather him not have fallen in love at all, but if I had to choose, he's much better than Edward. In the least Jacob seems more human-like, something a reader can believe in more easily. 6. Did you believe that Jacob deserved that kiss in Eclipse? I've stated not wishing this relationship at all to go that far, but in a sense by that time he had worked so hard, I suppose Jacob did deserve it. It's sad though, Bella should have been more forceful about the line thing between them; she states it herself in the second book, yet does nothing about it. The poor guy never had a chance. 7. Do you want Bella to end up with Jacob or Edward? Preferably neither. Bella says she's "not worthy" of either of them, remember? It would have been original for Edward to have left her at the beginning of New Moon, period, but seeing as the series has turned to where it is now, I have no choice but to go along with what Meyers has planned.

Not at all, I find him a just too perfect and controlling. In fact, I much preferred early New Moon Jacob, Jasper, and Alice.
New Moon Jacob for his human attributes and sarcastic wit, Jasper for his cool head and interesting past, and Alice for her personality.
2. Did you believe that Edward still loved Bella when he left her at the beginning of New Moon?
It was extremely obvious that he did, and I knew without a doubt that he was leaving her because he was ‘endangering her’ or something of the like. *sighs sadly and shakes her head* The way that Bella swallowed his lie whole was enough to have me banging my head against a desk in my horrible disbelief. How could she doubt that he loved her after all the crud they’d been through?
3. Did you believe that Edward was coming back/ going to save her etc?
I knew without a doubt, though I hoped otherwise. It would have been a really interesting plot twist to see how Bella came back from her boyfriend’s ditching her. She could have tried making friends out of the humans around her or had a better relationship with her dad. Instead, she just became a vegetable. . .
4. Did you warm to Jacob Black in New Moon when he helped Bella out?
I always liked him; I just loved him all the more in New Moon. He was a real guy who made the effort to befriend Bella even when she was just using him as her morphine. To me, that’s real love.
5. Did you think he was a worthy replacement for Edward? Why or Why not?
I agree with Ol-j-man in saying that Bella really shouldn’t have either boy, but I do think he is ‘worthy’ of replacing Edward. Well, at least I thought he was worthy before he went emo at the end of Eclipse. . . But this is a moot point, Bella’s forever stuck with Edward.
6. Did you believe that Jacob deserved that kiss in Eclipse?
Again, I wish he didn’t love Bella and just wanted to be friends, but that can’t be helped. I say let him have his moment of glory after working so hard for her, we all know that’s all he’s ever going to get. But five pages of them making out. . . that was a uncalled for.
7. Do you want Bella to end up with Jacob or Edward?
Since there’s no ‘neither’ choice, I say Edward, because it’s better for everyone that way. Bella and Edward are together forever in their happy little world and Jacob gets to move on from her to more worthy women.

Yes, most definately, even before I knew his name I was like, "AHHH! I love HIM!" By the end though eh was definately fighting against Alice and Emmett for my fave. >.<

Well, I guess because I went through a break-up like that, right before I read the book. I mean it was exactly like that, even similiar lines and things.... so I was definately thinking he thought he didn't love her so in a way yes and no....
3. Did you believe that Edward was coming back/ going to save her etc?
For a while I didn't and it made me very angry, but then I did, I was like he has to with Victoria on the loose he's gonna have to come back and then Alice came and I was like, "Good he'll be back."
4. Did you warm to Jacob Black in New Moon when he helped Bella out?
I HATED Jacob in New Moon, absolutely despised him- still do- it just seemed like he was taking advantage of her situation... Sure he helped but he was being selfish about the whole thing to.
5. Did you think he was a worthy replacement for Edward? Why or Why not?
No. He didn't love her the way Edward did, and he could imprint at any moment. And he is much too selfish and pushy and manipulative in a not cute way.

No. He tricked her into it and would have kissed her anyway.

Well, I actually liked Jasper a lot. :3 Jasper and Carlisle. Edward comes third. Jasper just... caught my attention a lot more. And I think Carlisle is great. I mean, I love Edward to death, but...

Of course. I could just tell that he still loved her. He did this for what he thought would be her own safety. Of course, it wasn't a pretty big and heartbreaking thing to do. But it happened.
3. Did you believe that Edward was coming back/ going to save her etc?
Yeah, I did. Well, at first I had my worries, but after a while when Alice came along, I knew that he would make his appearance again, but I was still a bit shaky about it. But Bella isn't THAT helpless. I figured that with the right push, she would do something about it.
4. Did you warm to Jacob Black in New Moon when he helped Bella out?
I liked Jacob at first, and I was glad that he could be so supportive and help her throughout New Moon, but after a while he got really frustrating, and in Eclipse he totally ruined it. He was very assholic throughout the book. He came off as pushy and a tad bit manipulative.
5. Did you think he was a worthy replacement for Edward? Why or Why not?
Not that he was worthy, but that it just wouldn't be very right. He's right for her as a best friend. I can't see him as a replacement. She can be just as unhappy with him. He hasn't imprinted, and if they got into a relationship and he ended up imprinting on someone else, then that would tear her apart. Think about Sam. His whole imprinting on another person is something. I don't see mentioned way too often.
6. Did you believe that Jacob deserved that kiss in Eclipse?
Well, not really. I didn't like how he got the kiss. It seemed pretty cruel. The first kiss was also forced. I don't like how he approaches Bella when it comes to their "love" for each other.

It will always be Edward for me. Despite what they have been through, their love is still very strong, and she has said it herself, that it will always be stronger with Edward than with Jacob. Bella can be weak and whiny sometimes, but that's what makes her real. It's always some strong, over confident and loud mouthed, cold and distrustful female protagonist. Bella's character is more... real. =/

No, Edward wasn't my favorite. I did like him a lot, but Bella was my favorite. I always seem to like the person telling the story better.

Yeah, I understood exactly why he was leaving. And that it was just the right thing to do.

I knew he was going to come back at some point.. They couldn't just kill him off.

Yes, I adore Jacob. I think he was such a good shoulder for Bella during her break-up with Edward.

Yes, I did think he was a good replacement. For all Bella knew, Edward was not coming back.. And she couldn't spend the rest of her life single.. And Jacob was there, and he understood it all. <33

I loved the fact that they kissed. I thought it was the right thing to do. Kissing someone can make you realize that 'yes, this is the person I want to be with', because of the sparks that can happen between you two. Or it can have the opposite effect.
7. Do you want Bella to end up with Jacob or Edward? (Your answer shouldn't be Dependant on who you expect she will end up with)
I want Bella to end up with Edward all the way. Sure, I love the BellaxJacob coupling. But sooner or later, Jacob will have to imprint someone. And we know its not Bella (Even Mrs. Meyers herself says so).. So she would end up getting hurt, wanting to or not..

Fun. Here are my answers.
1. Was Edward Cullen your Favourite Character in Twilight? If not who?
Haha. I remember the first time they introduced his character...without even saying his name yet and I was hooked. I personally don't know why I was so drawn toward him so quickly and such, but he's stuck with me throughout the rest of the series.
2. Did you believe that Edward still loved Bella when he left her at the beginning of New Moon?
Yes. Without a doubt in my mind I knew Edward was still deeply and irrevocably in love with Bella. I knew that Edward didn't see himself as someone deserving of Bella, that's why he went to such lengths to distance himself away from her.
3. Did you believe that Edward was coming back/ going to save her etc?
Another yes. Edward wouldn't be able to deal with himself if he had lost Bella, so he would do everything in his power to keep her safe. This is shown in New Moon and how he 'leaves her', I believe this is a very huge example of how much he cares for her over his own welfare...even if he didn't know the detrimental effect it had on her as well.
4. Did you warm to Jacob Black in New Moon when he helped Bella out?
No. Throughout New Moon my dislike of the character almost seemed to escalate. When he was first introduced, I didn't even like him then. He seemed to cocky, to 'up in your face'. Personally, I found him very annoying. Plus, with everything that then happened in New Moon and Eclipse...lets just say I was very upset with him toward the end.
5. Did you think he was a worthy replacement for Edward? Why or Why not?
No. First, Jacob didn't put Bella's safety first. Second, he was very secretive and his attitude changed drastically almost all the time. Thirdly, if he knew Bella loved Edward, then why did he try and have her fall in love with him, to be 'his'? I personally found that to be an extreme turn-off. Lastly, if he didn't get his way, he'd kick and scream and throw a temper tantrum. Overall, his character is extremely immature and not respectful of Bella at all.
6. Did you believe that Jacob deserved that kiss in Eclipse?
No. Definitely not. Jacob couldn't be happy for Bella because she wasn't with him, so I believe he took advantage of her in a way. Even at the end of the novel, Edward sent that invitation to him, not as a way to show off, but to make Bella happy, and he still over reacted and ran away.
7. Do you want Bella to end up with Jacob or Edward? (Your answer shouldn't be Dependant on who you expect she will end up with)
Bella should end up with Edward. They're soul mates, they were when they first laid eyes on each other, and they still were in the end of Eclipse. Another big reason for my dislike for Jacob is how he disregarded imprinting. What if Bella and him did get together, but then later on he imprinted on another girl. Jacob would yell sorry to her over his shoulder while he ran away to his 'soul mate'...Bella would be left all alone. That's mostly why I really want Bella to end up with Edward. They are so perfect together and their love would last for eternity.
