I dunno. We have a clarinet who's a cheerleader and it's pretty obvious we hate all the cheerleaders except for that clarinetist. -shrug- We usually just ignore them because we know we do the actual cheering. ^^

Our entire band'll yell "HI RACER CHEERLEADERS" during football games randomly, and they'll do the same thing back in response (minus the whole cheerleader part, of course).

Ha. at our school, the cheerleaders'll go "hey band, shake your booty." And we all go "No way," but then we do it anyways. then we get to yell ,"Hey Cheerleaders, shake your booty," and they do it too.
Our band director says we need to make freinds with the cheerleaders, but we know he dislikes them just as much as we do.

That's completely untrue. My best friend is a cheerleader, plays Clarinet, and is in guard. even though she can't march because her foot is broken, she still manages to participate in all three activites.

Our cheerleaders love our band because we get them pumped up and are usually the only ones who participate in the cheers sweatdrop . We love them for dancing and singing to our music so we benefit from one another. heart And a lot of ex-band members are cheerleaders but we don't show them hard love...sometimes.

Some of our band members are ex-cheerleaders.
It was rather random when some of the newbie flutes were trying to figure out a cheer and our junior piccolo walked up to 'em and showed them right...XD

In the past our band has never had a good relationship with the cheerleaders. Until this year, that is...
Two of our players decided to tell our BD (A WEEK BEFORE CHAMPIONSHIPS!!) that they weren't going to be at championships. Needless to say, our BD freaked out, as did I. We managed to convince a cheerleader and another girl (the other girl is a very good friend of mine) to stand in for the flute and clarinet at championships. Meaning - they would be marching, but not playing.
In one week, we managed to get the two girls to learn all of the drill for the show, and the visuals, so they could stand in at championships.
Now, of course, we have an awesome relationship with the cheerleader who stood in for the flute player, and as a result, the other cheerleaders are nice to us.

When I was in college, our pep band had a way of messing with the cheerleaders and the step team.
I should note that I attended a music conservatory, so we did not have a marching band, and those who made up the pep band were the ultimate of ultimate music geeks assembled from the various music frats and sororities we had around.
So when it came to a football game, they would mess up the cheerleaders and step dancers during the fight song by suddenly shifting to three time. Over dinner in the caf a few nights, some of the composing majors sat down and tried to transpose the fight song into phrygian, lydian, and other archaic modes.
It wasn't that we hated our cheerleaders... It's just that we had a one-up on them.
