TheLyelac1 I have my chart and I know all the placements for stuff but there are these things that books don't elaborate on ( Ceres, Pallas, Juno, and Vesta) so could someone please elucidate? It really depends where they are in your chart... Can I see your chart? You probably want to know about Chiron, Eros & Psyche, Vertex, North node, South node, Black Moon Lilith, and Part of Fortune as well. Ceres
Ceres describes the ways in which we face the issues of Self-worth and self esteem, relationships to our parents and children, attachment, dependency, loss, separation, rejection, grief, sharing work and productivity.
Ceres in the Signs shows how we meet our needs to give and receive nurturance; our nurturing style and the types of things that make us feel nurtured, and what we need from ourselves and others to feel unconditionally loved and accepted.
Ceres in the Houses shows where we are most readily experience the need to give and receive nurturing.Ceres also indicates what kind of experiences will foster feelings of self- love and self-acceptance, or self-rejection and critical attitudes.
Pallas Athene
Pallas Athene, Goddess of Wisdom and Justice, patroness of the arts and protectress of the state, describes how we face the issues of learning, creativity, the arts, politics, healing, alienations from relationships, competition, and the fears of success.
Pallas Athene (the Roman name for the Greek Athena) shows our ability to recognize patterns, to arrange and re-arrange things, our skills in problem solving .
Pallas Athene in the Signs describes the styles of perception through which the creative mind operates. Pallas Athene shows your preferred style for doing these things.
Juno
Juno describes the ways in which we face the issues of compatibility, receptivity to others, mutual sharing, trust jealousy and power struggles.
Juno in the horoscope gives a good indication of the kind of marriage partner that we need and will get. Not the partner we think we want (those are ruled by Venus and Mars), but the one we need and actually wind up with.
Juno in the signs describes twelve styles of relating and meeting our intimacy needs. If these needs are denied, then Juno signifies the subsequent neurotic interactions that we will experience.
Venus and Mars show what we consider to be our ideal man or woman. The 5th house describes the type of people we tend to get involved with romantically. The 7th house tells us the kind of person our first marriage partner will be (and the 9th house describes our 2nd marriage partner, if any). Juno works on a more fundamental level.
Vesta
Vesta's placement in the horoscope shows where and how we can be dedicated, where we can focus our energies to the greatest effect. But it also shows where, periodically, we have to withdraw and "recharge our batteries." If we don't, we will become drained, and even sick.
Vesta in the signs describe the styles of focus and commitment, and what we have to exclude from our lives to achieve that purpose. Vesta also describes the way in which we deal with personal sexual energy - either through free expression, sublimation, or repression.
Part of Fortune
The Part of Fortune is used to describe the basic way in which the individual is physically connected with the surrounding world. It is one of the significators of the body and health, and it is the primary significator of prosperity, and also career as it relates to prosperity.
One of the Arabian Points (q.v.). A point that bears the same relation to the Rising Degree that the Moon bears to the Sun. It occupies the same House-position in a Figure based on a birth-moment, that the Moon tenants in a Solar Figure. Its symbol, a cross within a circle ED, is that utilized by astronomers to represent the Earth. It is the ancient Chinese symbol Tien, a field; used by the Egyptians to signify territory. It is generally considered that the House position of Fortuna is an indication of the department of life that will most readily contribute to the financial welfare of the native. If so it tends to lend emphasis to the theory that one succeeds best at that which one likes best; that congeniality of occupation is a contributing factor to success therein. v. Arabian Points.
Black Moon
The Black Moon Lilith describes our relationship to the absolute, to sacrifice as such, and shows us how we let go. In transit, Black Moon Lilith indicates a form of castration or frustrations, most often in areas of desire, a powerlessness of the psyche, or a general inhibition. It also shows where we question ourselves, our lives, our jobs, and our beliefs. This is important as it gives us the opportunity to let go of something.
Black Moon Lilith shows us we can let the entire event flow into ourselves, without putting our ego in the way to resist it. It does not mean you are passive - contrary to it - it symbolizes the firm will to be open and trusting, to let the greater will of the Universe flow through you, trusting that when Lilith is done with this moment of your life, you will be ready for the challenges that comes. To prepare us for this new opportunity, Black Moon Lilith creates the necessary void.
There are actually 3 Liliths in Astrology.
1. The Black Moon (a mathematical point).
2. The Dark Moon (a theoretical second Moon that orbits the Earth 3 times more distant than our normal Moon.
3. Asteriod number 1181 that orbits the Sun in the asteriod belt between Mars and Jupiter.
All are named after the Dark Goddess Lilith... more infamously known as Adam's runaway bride. The 3 aspects vibrate at different frequencies, in chords & octaves, opening channels to clear & spiritualize the emotional body. The cycle of our Lilith experience is initiated by the asteroid Lilith, developed by the Dark Moon Lilith & completed by the Black Moon Lilith.
The elliptical orbit of the Moon has two foci, the Earth, and a second point located in empty space that is identified with Lilith. Lilith therefore is not a planet but a gravitational focus in space. Lilith rotates slowly around the Earth, taking 3232 days, or about 8.9 years for a full rotation.
Another name for Lilith is "Black Moon". This offers insight into her significance in the horoscope, where she is interpreted as the unseen feminine aspect of our unconscious mind. Thus Lilith's position in our horoscope tells us about the suppressed shadow-side of our unconscious, and indicates things that are hidden in the shadows, unfulfilled wishes, painful experiences, privation and darkness. Nevertheless, Lilith not only brings death, pain and disaster, but also generates life. Additionally, if the horoscope is for a male, Lilith can point to the woman he fears most or the woman that drives him to despair.
Vertex
The Vertex is a point in the horoscope that can indicate a sense of destiny working through another person or outstanding event. It may be stimulated by transits, progressions or directions, other people (synastry/composite) or a change of location. The house and sign position can offer clues as to where the change or turning point may take place and in what way. All students are encouraged to watch the vertex in their own charts, determining for themselves the relative value. After all, we never know when Vertumnus might enter our garden in the guise of someone else, offering an unexpected turn of fate!
When there are transits or progressed aspects to the Vertex, the qualities of the Vertex sign will be emphasized. Under favorable aspects, we are drawn by people (indicated by the House position) to express the aptitudes of the Vertex sign. Under afflictions, we seem to have problems with the Vertex sign energy.
The Lovers
Eros: Capacity for vitality and passion Psyche: Capacity to be psychically sensitive to another person
Eros
Eros brings beauty, meaning and divinity into our lives. It comes to us through a very particular epiphany, a passionate inspiration present in a particular lover, teacher, melody, or landscape. We long to follow it always. But this is not the whole story. For Eros also brings us obsessions, cruelty, abandonment, and betrayal. It may come through anguish."--Harriet Eisman
The asteroid Eros, like any planet in the astrological chart, represents a basic human need, drive or impulse. As Mars symbolizes the drive or urge towards assertiveness, action and direction, Eros symbolizes the urge towards erotic love and the transformations offered by this experience. The PLANETS represent the nature of an inherent impelling force in us, as well as a piece of our own soul, and Eros's impulsion is towards union of a particular kind.
The SIGNS indicates how the needs and drives of the planets will express. Just as Mars in Leo may have a dramatic flare and fixedness to its drive to take action, so Eros in Leo would have a flamboyant spark in its approach to erotic love. The signs describe the way a need functions.
The HOUSES in turn represent areas of life, inner and outer. They symbolize the environment where the need or drive is acting out. The ruler on the house cups and the sign or signs contained in the house suggest the climate found in that environment. Any planets residing in a given house indicates that the needs and drives implied by them tend to operate strongly in that area of life. Entering or doing that area of life will evoke the needs and drives of the planets found there. We meet those planets, and the archetypal characters they symbolize, in that area of life.
Where Eros is by house indicates the environment, people or experiences that the god of love affiliates with.
Psyche
Psyche represents the principle of being psychically attuned and bonded to another human being. Astrologically, Psyche is the higher octave of Venus, expressing a refinement of personal love and psychically attuned to another.
Through following the path of Psyche, conscious relationship provides a path to spiritual illumination. Psyche's challenges depict the Soul's journey from mortality to divinity, Psyche successfully transformed her earthly nature into that of a deity so that she can be with Eros. Together, Eros and Psyche symbolize Soul-mate union.
In Chart analysis, a prominent Psyche symbolizes the capacity for psychic sensitivity to the mind and feelings of another person. This heightened awareness can produce a yearning for mystic, soul-mate union. Stressful placements of Psyche can indicate a total lack of sensitivity to others, a blocked psychic awareness or the inability to enter personal relationships.
Because of their need for deep, intuitive communication, Psyche individuals may often decline to enter into superficial or short-term Relationships. Thus they may have many admirers, but remain essentially alone. Hope this helps... Yuki Edit: P.S. Email me about this if you want: yukiinukai@gmail.com

What? That they're gods?
That doesn't surprise me at all. Astronomers have been naming things in the "heavens" after pagan gods since...forever.
