I just got home from the hospital. My mom was hit by a car! She was crossing the road in an underground parking lot...
Apparently, it was the student driver's first time in a parking lot like that and she was kind of nervous. She came down off one of the ramps from a higher level and took a wrong turn, so she was driving in the wrong direction. The person next to her, in the passenger seat, told her she couldn't go that way and the driver kind of panicked a little bit and turned into the first street she saw, and the crosswalk was right there and my mom and grandmother were on it. And that freaked the driver out even more, and she wanted to jam the brakes but hit the gas.
My mom didn't see a thing coming. She says she heard the car coming about a split second before she felt it. My grandmother was on the other side of my mom and was able to move out of the way after my mom was hit... and the car just kept driving. The driver was so in shock she didn't remember how to stop. My grandmother was really freaked out and upset. She says my mom literally flew up in the air when the car hit her and then just smashed into the ground.
As much as I'm upset, I still feel bad for the driver too. She must feel really guilty and will probably be pretty scared of driving for a while...
My mom has to have surgery on her hip tomorrow, and then she has to stay in the hospital for at least a week. Then she can come home if she's able to stand and walk a bit on her own. She can't go back to work for probably three months.
I didn't see her until a few hours after the accident... She seemed okay... just drowsy. They gave her all kinds of painkillers. She said she'd never been in so much pain before in her life though. And apparently the ambulance couldn't ride into the underground parking lot and there weren't any emergency elevators (which is ridiculous!) so they had to carry her out of the parking lot on a chair. But since her hip/leg is broken it was really painful. She said she's sure the entire city could hear her screaming, even though she tried not to...
I feel bad for her D=
This sucks. But at least she'll be okay, it could have been a lot worse...

That sucks!
I hope the surgery goes along smoothly!
I have been in a few minor car crashes, they weren't severe at all, but my dad has broken a bumper of one car and had to pay for that.

The surgery went well... she says she's feeling better. They inserted a titanium bar from her hip to her knee... She can't put on any weight on her leg for 6 weeks and will have to do a lot of physical therapy and stuff... it'll never be the way it used to be, but she should recover pretty much completely.

I hope she heals well and such.
I've never been in a car crash.
But I have had 3 dreams involving scary car incidents.
(One was actually a crash and the other 2 just involved cars.)
I aslo believe my grandpa died from a car crash.
(So I'm really glad your mom is doing well!)
I'm not posivitive about that though... my mom doesn't like talking about it.
If it did happen my mother was only 21 and it wasn't my grandfather's fault.

Wow... Thinking about people sticking metal bars into your body just makes me wanna gag. gonk But it's good to know that she's alright!

I hope she heals well and such.
I've never been in a car crash.
But I have had 3 dreams involving scary car incidents.
(One was actually a crash and the other 2 just involved cars.)
I aslo believe my grandpa died from a car crash.
(So I'm really glad your mom is doing well!)
I'm not posivitive about that though... my mom doesn't like talking about it.
If it did happen my mother was only 21 and it wasn't my grandfather's fault.
Bilvy: Yeah, I guess it's kind of gross... but it doesn't bother me too much xp Sometimes I want to be a doctor.. sometimes xp
My mom is coming home tomorrow 3nodding She'll probably have a wheelchair. If I have time this afternoon, I'm going to go visit her... but I have a ton of schoolwork and I don't have a ride to the hospital so I don't know if I'll be able to.

And the nightmares sucked! xP (One actually involved Ryan and Spencer. D: Creepy? I think so.
