1. Follow Gaia's TOS
I shouldn't need to say this, but it's better than having problems later.
2. Keep it PG-13.
In theory, everyone on Gaia should be over the age of 13 so I think this is a reasonable expectation. If you get too hardcore into the heavy petting and the swearing, you'll get a warning.
3. No god-moding.
What's god-moding, you ask? It's taking control of another person's character without their permission. Using another character in battle, killing another character, describing another characters reactions, and making the other character speak are all examples. Minor offenses will result in a warning, and major offenses (i.e., doing it often or killing off other characters) will get you banned. End of story.
Note: If you have done this on accident and I see that in an OOC note on a post, or if you have prior permission from the other character's player to do something I'll let it go. If you do it on 'accident' more than a couple of times I will assume you are abusing the privilege and ban you without notification.
4. Save the drama for your Mama
Because we don't need it here. People who pick fights, are rude to others, or otherwise antagonize their fellow roleplayers will be PM'd a warning signed by the Drama Llama. dramallama
5. No Begging.
I don't want to see posts begging for items or gold. There is an OOC subforum in which you can post quests and such, but that isn't highly encouraged either. If it comes up in conversation--if someone asks if you need something, okay, but no blatant begging. There are guilds especially for that, and this isn't one of them.
6. Main Forum Posts:
Nothing is to be posted in the main forum unless it has been approved by me. I won't even read the title, it'll just get deleted. If you have a dire question that can't wait until I respond to your PM, post it in the Q&A thread. It may take time to get an answer, but it's better than having it deleted entirely and possibly getting a warning. Subforum rules regarding new threads are posted within the subforums.
7. Applying:
Applicants should read all these rules and post the words "Ekki-ekki-ekki-pitang-zoom-boing" at the end of your application. Brownie points if you also know what it's from. Applications should include the password and why you want to join. A filled in profile is not a must--however, applicants with profiles who are accepted can begin roleplaying as soon as they post their profile to the Profiles thread, and applicants who do not must have their profiles approved before they can post them or begin roleplay. Profiles should be PM'd to RiffyRaffy for approval.
Punishment system:
Riff Raff basically works on a three strikes system unless otherwise noted in the rules.
First Strike: You get suspended for a couple of days and I PM you a warning.
Second Strike: You get suspended for two weeks and I PM you a more strongly worded warning.
Third Strike: You're out. Literally. Your third strike you will be banned with no notice. I just kick you out. And don't PM me an angry response either--it's your responsibility to follow the rules and you've already been warned prior to this unless you've really angered me. Angry PMs with no founding will be reported.
