Joining the Game
If you are interested in joining, this is the place to let me know. Please note that you will need two items:
1. Access to a copy of the Demon: the Fallen core rules (these are available in the Getting the Book to You thread).
2. A character concept (to discuss with me) and a filled character sheet (see below). Please read through the post on Character Creation, found below.

You may also want access to the Demon: Player's Guide (also found in the Getting the Book to You thread). This book is entirely OPTIONAL, but provides increased character customization options.

Character Sheets
I recommend using the Official Editable Character Sheet to help you decide on your character's stats. Since you cannot normally save the sheet once it is filled out, I'm afraid you'll have to enter all the data into a PM, and then send it to me (There is another option; see below). Here is a template for you to use (Sorry for the template's crudeness. Gaia's formatting was difficult):

Another option for filling out a character sheet is to use Cutepdf with the editable character sheet and e-mail it to me, at Redford.Blade@gmail.com. Johnmcfloss has more information on the process (see below). Please note that I'm still figuring out CutePDF myself, but I'll help in any way I can, should you have questions.

Character Creation

When creating your character, you may make them from scratch, using the rules presented in the Core Rulebook (and the merits, flaws, and apocalyptic form rules from the Player's Guide, if you wish). You may also come up with a character concept or backstory, and submit it to me for advice on turning your ideas into a complete character.

The Ideal Complete Character consists of three things, ranked by importance:
1. A character concept / history that details who the character is. (See "Important Considerations," below)
2. A write-up on the character's current goals, dilemmas, and an in-depth look at any Backgrounds the character has (for example: "Her two points of Resources come from her job at the technology firm.")
3. A filled character sheet. (Once again, I can help with this part)

If you have a very compelling concept for a non-demon character that would fit with this game (ex. an exorcist, a mortal cultist or thrall, etc.), I would be more than willing to consider it.

If you would like any advice on creating characters for a Storyteller game, or if you have any questions, please feel free to PM or E-mail me.

Important Considerations for Character Creation

Hopefully, you have had a chance to look at the core rulebook, get familiarized with the history behind the game’s setting, and perhaps form ideas for your character. There are a number of important things to consider in creating that character. These apply to the story aspect of character creation just as much as they apply to the system / dots-on-a-page aspect of it.

1. Your character is a demon, a former angel of the Host. She was created as an agent of the Creator, rebelled, and was cast down to the Pit. She had a role in the Universe, angelic and demonic acquaintances, and countless experiences in the mortal world. She was part of the rebellion. She ended up in the Abyss, and suffered there.
-----Question: What was all of that like for her? (If you can’t think up a full background here, don’t sweat it. Many of the Fallen have vague or hazy memories of the time before their escape from Hell.)

2. Your character was once a human being. She had parents, a childhood, teenage years, and possibly some degree of an adult life. She had mortal acquaintances and beliefs, maybe a job and a family of her own. She had a life. And somehow, that life came to an end, her soul left (or was pushed out, or buried), and the demon took over.
-----Question: What was her life like, especially the time leading up to her death / possession?

3. Your character is a demon in the body of a human being, with most (if not all) of the human’s memories. She has become a strange mental fusion of human and demon, and it is a rare member of the Fallen who can completely overcome their host’s memories, or be overcome by their host’s memories. One of the first dilemmas the Fallen face when returning to the world is dealing with the lives of their hosts, and their new, physical forms.
-----Question: How do the demon and human parts of your character interact? Did the demon abandon her host’s old life entirely? Did she try to pretend that she was still the host, living the host’s life? This is perhaps the most important part of character creation, since it determines the character’s current outlook and provides some plot hooks and complications for the Storyteller to use.

Posting Rules

I know that we are all posting from different time zones and locations, so I won't impose any sort of rules for posting times. Post whenever you get the chance, but try to make sure that the other players get a say in what is happening.

On occaisions when the characters might be in different places, we can relax the posting rules a bit. For example, if characters 1 and 2 are building something, and players 3, 4, 5 are researching a topic at the library, then its okay for 1 and 2 to post consecutively, so long as they slow down when the group meets back up.

Count me in!

I'll get something to you in the next few days - I could do with rereading through the books (I've got Core and Houses, looking into the others).

As a sidenote, if you download Cutepdf (legal and free!), you can save edited PDFs. You can't re-edit them, but it'll remember what you've changed

***EDIT***
Using Cute PDF

It should be noted that (unles they've drastically updated the program since I downloaded it), you do not technically save using CutePDF.
Once it is installed, it should become a Printer option (once you hit print, where you choose which printer to use). You select CutePDF and hit print. It'll think for a minute or two, then ask you where you want to save it.

Yeah, I've never played before, so I'll need to collaborate with you on my character, but I've been itching for a game for a while.

I'll let you know when I have a potential concept.

Since you have other sourcebooks, you probably don't need the player's guide that much, since it is mostly useful for merits/flaws and new rules for the demon's apocalyptic form. But, as always, just drop me a line if you do want it.

Thanks for the heads up on Cutepdf. I'll find it and add it in as an option for character creation. I should also add in an e-mail address for anyone who wants to e-mail me a character sheet.

Well, I've sent an idea, though I'm trying to find a backup, since I'm not expecting my idea to be allowed.

Is it still possible for me to join? This sounds right up my alley, seeing as that I'm living in the greater Los Angeles area. I'll get my character proposal to you probably on Monday, seeing that my weekend is pretty cramed pack.

Sure thing, Traara. The game isn't set to start for another two weeks, unless we get a big influx of players, so come right in.

And about the setting... Despite having family in L.A., I fear that I may misrepresent the city both due to my own ignorance and the needs of the story. However, if you have any special locations you'd like me to include, please PM me or post in the Setting thread.

I am interested in joining, as you well know Redford, but I will need your help in the character creation. <3

I've started my character, but I'm still a newbie when it comes to Demon, so it's coming along slowly. I'll send him to you when he's done.

I'm curious..
I'd like to try this, and like Sven, I haven't played Demon the Fallen before. If I remember right, I have book as PDF at my hd. Some kicking to things may be required. One wet-behind-the-ears-demon coming right up. Hopefully.
