So... I know alot of everyone reads manga and stuff... but does anybody actually read comic comics? Like DC or Marvel? I'm not a huge reader of comics myself, I don't like just picking anything up in the middle of a series... And so many of my favorite heroes have been around so long that you can't really do anything except pick up in the middle... But recently I've been looking for a bunch of mini/maxi series to pick up... I just picked up DC's Crisis on Infinite Earths... It's good stuff... but kinda difficult to figure out who everyone is... And... I'm still missing out on tons of backstory...
So does anyone else read comic books? Or am I the only geek here?

I read Marvel mostly, personally. 3nodding I'm a great X-Men fan, though most of my owned comics are Excalibur, one of the spinoffs. I've also got a few random graphic novels, including some of the DC-published Sandman novels by Neil Gaiman. heart

We and Flik have all the Sin City graphic novels as well as the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen graphic novels (which are way better than the crappy movie). I used to have a whole lot of comics but they've mostly been sold off or lost during various moves and such.

Wow... that many of us like comic books huh? I find that I like concept stuff... Like the Amalgam comics... It was a concept that the DC and Marvel universes melded together and so did their denizens... So Batman and Wolverine melded to become Dark Claw, Superman and Captain America became Super Soldier and so on... Or when DC put out the "Just Imagine Stan Lee Creating the DC Universe" which is pretty self explanatory... It's just Stan Lee and re-imagined DC's most popular heroes the way he'd have done them... You know... Concept stuff... Now... come on people... DISCUSS SOMETHING!

ComicCon FTW? ninja
Anywho, I'm a big comic fan, I like Marvel more than DC, but I also like Top Cow comics, Witchblade, Tomb Raider (which I have been following since #1), and also Darkhorse, like the Ah! My Goddess comics and stuff.
Captain America and Gambit are my favorite Marvel characters, and I have a lot of X-Men comics. I also have a few of the Last Shot comic books, drawn by the crew here at Gaia, Studio XD. VO, Locke, and Lanzer. 3nodding If I ever get to see them at a Con, y'best believe I'm getting those signed.
And then I also like Roxy, F5, Adrenalynn, WildC.A.T.S. (Zealot... razz ) ... a lot of comics I like. XD

I recently picked up the first four of the "Just imagine if Stan Lee created the DC Universe" series, it's pretty cool. He redoes the members of the JLA the way he would have created them. The ones I've read so far are: Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman, and Green Lantern.

Me and teh Nyte picked up Marvel Ultimate Alliance... it's pretty awesome we've pretty much picked out our favorites... I've primarily been playing as Spiderman and he rocks the Venom rather well... Me and Nyte... We're usually always different sides of the same coin...

Has anyone read the Sin City graphic novels? We just watched the movie this past weekend and I'm thinking about trying to get a hold of them.

KayCarol Has anyone read the Sin City graphic novels? We just watched the movie this past weekend and I'm thinking about trying to get a hold of them. Me and Flik have all 9. They are really good. The movie was really good about sticking to the books since Rodriguez used them as his storyboard and all. I recommend them. Though if you plan on getting "The Big, Fat Kill" I also suggest getting "A Dame to Kill For" as it gives a bit of backstory on Dwight McCarthy, it's also the main story Sin City 2 is supposed to be based around.

My brothers have it, and I see them playing it on XBox Live all the time. I'd probably play Captain America... but can you play as Gambit??

He's my favorite mutant hand down... I want to go as him for halloween... @Kay - Lol... For some reason Nyte believes there to be nine... there's not... There are seven... and I also recommend A Dame to Kill For and also Hell and Back is pretty freaking good. If you want to listen to me rant about how the movie is the perfect comic book adaptation... just ask... I'll do it...
