Room 13.5 doesn’t show up on the normal registry. It doesn’t show up on the blueprint, and it doesn’t even show up in the numbering. To get to 13.5 you have to be looking for 13.5. This is exactly the way Khane likes it, the fewer people that can find him sleeping, the better off he is. The room is near the center of the building, and has the four view-screens set to monitor the hallway outside his room, the front lobby, and the two elevators. The door has been re-enforced with bullet-proof everything, and there is an escape hatch where the closet once was. Other than that, and the med-station in the bathroom, this room is fairly ordinary Clothes strewn here and there, posters up on the walls, unmade bed... just your average dorm room... inhabited by a born, bread, and beset psycho killer for hire.

Khane dragged himself into his dorm room, locking the door behind him, and stripping down, flopping onto the mattress like a limp noodle. He pulled his cellphone out of the pocket of his discarded jeans and put it on his bed side table, leaving the ring on loud so that he would hear it if Abel called. No one else had his cell number but Abel, so he wasn't expecting any calls. He pinned Erica's note to the cork-board above his bed, and drifted into a heavy, nightmare filled slumber.

Khane woke groggily from his sleep and looked around the room, deciding that the first thing he was going to do when he had some time, was go down to the mall and buy himself a coffee maker for this room, so he could get some without having to get dressed. He rolled out of bed and walked into the bathroom, starting to shower off and plan his day out.

Khane stepped out of the shower, shaking most of the water off him before toweling off completely. He grabbed his Armani suit and threw it on, holstering his weapons with it and going over his to-do list, which consisted of 'eat, cause mass panic'. He nodded and looked over his room once more, making sure he hadn't forgot anything. Confirming that everything was where he needed it to be, he stepped out of his room, and locked the door, heading out of the dorms.

Khane came walking up to the door to his dorm room, opening it and spinning in gracefully. He plopped Erica down on the bed, locked the door and flipped out the lights, setting the screens to dim, leaving the entire room completely dark. If one were to stand outside the room at this point, and listen in, they would be thoroughly disturbed.

Khane lay flat on his back under the sheets, the covers had been kicked off a long time ago, and the lights were now back on. He had a lit smoke in his hand and had given a chocolate-bar to Erica. The screens were back on. He inhaled a large lungful of nicotine, and sighed out heavily... that was good.

Erica, who was now half-brain floating, half-down-to-earth-so-frikkin-happy. She snuggled up to her fiancee and laid her head on his chest. Her undone hair flowed evenly around her, creating a warming veil of black and purple. She took the chocolate bar graciously, like it was a gift from the gods, then laid back down on the wall that was her fiancee.

"Love you." She murmered against his chest lovingly.

Khane wrapped an arm around her shoulder... hugging her to his chest tightly as he though of the events to come. He was going to be a father and a husband, which one came first only time will tell, but regardless he was going to end up both. He was going to have a son or daughter... something like him. He would have to name him, raise him, care for him...or for that matter her. He sighed, trying to think of what a father did... he never had a father himself, the closest thing he had was a group of scientists and an incubation tube... He took a deep puff of his death-stick and exhaled, hugging Erica close to him. Regardless of what he knew, and what would happen, he was going ot protect both of them, even if it cost him his life.

Erica blinked for a moment at his silence, then smiled again. He seemed to be lost in thought. Erica continued to munch on the god-given chocolate, and closed her eyes. She thought of similar thoughts, more to do with the pregnancy itself. Would it misscarriage? Would the little one be premature? Would it be still-born? Would it be human, or vampire, or both? Would she be able to raise him or her properly? Would she live through labor? She didn't even know she could have children still...maybe she wasn't? What if the thing was flawed....and how did he know? That thought just rang through her head with all the sharpness of professional chef's knives. She wasn't sure how to ask though. She hadn't said anything about it to him....she was going to...but, she hadn't. "Hmm..." She mumbled to herself as she too dissapeared into the realms of thought, and chocolate.

(Wow, you aren't kidding when you say first thing in the morning)

Khane gave one final squeeze and rolled out of bed, walking across the myriad of clothes and weapons scattering the floor between the bed and the bathroom. He pushed the door open and climbed into the shower, turning the water on as hot as it would go and curling up in the basin, letting the water wash over him. He drifted into sleep and he was sitting in a dark room with a single light. In this light was a table with two chairs facing opposite each other, and a tall glass of water. He sat down at the table and looked at the water. It was blue in the glass, like a deep ocean. He looked at it for a little while, trying ot determine if the water was that colour, or if it was the glass it's self. He looked up into his own eyes staring back at him from across the table. He was sitting in the other chair it seemed, but there was something different about this other him... it might have been the snow white dove wings and the halo, but he wasn't sure. He looked confused and figured that whatever was going on he was safe, so he picked up the glass and took a long drink.

The water was ice cold, refreshing, and had a hint of mint flavoring in it. He put the glass back down, and as it turned out the glass was tinted bright red. He picked the glass back up and looked it over, swirling the liquid around inside it. Whatever the colour of the liquid, when combined with the bright red of the glass it turned to deep ocean blue. He shrugged and drained the glass, looking up at his be winged and be haloed self, who grinned pleasantly and began to speak.

"Now that you've amused yourself let's get down to business, I know how you like to cut the formalities and get straight to the issue of things. I am your soul, and you are my body. Because of the intervention of your creators, I was not allowed to enter your body upon your more than unusual conception. Now if you will simply follow procedure and allow me to bond with you, we can have this whole unfortunate mess sorted out."

Khane looked himself square in the eye. He was kidding right? This was going to be a long and confusing set of events, and he wanted nothing to do with it. He reached for his pistols, nothing, he reached for his sword, nothing, felt around for his sniper, nothing. Crap. Diplomacy was going ot have to be the route then.

"Or we could not, I happen to quite enjoy not feeling things... it makes my life and job simpler. So how bout you go find someone else to be a parasite to and I'll continue to live my god-free life, okie tay?"

His soul just sat there, an amused smile plastered on it's smug face as it traced little white lines across the steel table top.

"You act as if you have a choice, Project Leviathan, the fact is you and I are GOING to be bonded... and I am GOING to be in control... do I make myself clear?"

"Yes... and I'm having nothing to do with it."

Khane took the glass and smashed it across his soul's face... how that was possible he didn't much care, he would deal with the ethical, spiritual, and metaphysical ramifications of doing that later. He flipped the table, threw the chair at his soul, and booked it as fast as his existential legs would carry him into the deepest darkness of the corner of his mind.

Erica, who had drifted into semi-conciousness, was re-awoken after Khane got up. Her body missed his warmth, but she let him be. She reached over the side of the bed, and pulled up a black H.I.M. backpack, the very same backpack that had been with her during her siring, up onto the bed. She smiled, unzipped the old faded bag and pulled out an expensive looking, half filled sketchbook. From a side pouch on the bag she pulled out a pencil, a pen, and two erasers and an iPod.

She heard the hot water start, and lightly smiled, filling her mind with teasing images, which she pushed to the side, but amused herself for a few moments before turning on the sanity-giving device and opening the sketchbook to a blank page. She pulled out a few previous sketches of Khane she had shoved in the back of the book, looked at them with an 'ehhh....' sort of look on her makeupless face, and then laid them out on the bed. Happily, she leaned back against the wall, propping the sketchbook up on her pale knees. She started sketching to a darker tune, more dramatic tune, Fall No More by Bella Morte, which, was perfect for what she was drawing.

After an hour, she had a wonderful sketch, a profiled view of her lying in Khane's lap over a night-lit bluff over the reflecting sea. Khane bore leathery, black, torn and tattered wings, that arched protectively over Erica, who laid in his lap contentedly. Erica, who was dressed in a black, flowing gown, looked like she was asleep as Khane ran one hand tenderly through her black and purple hair, not that you could see the color at the time, and his wings arched around them, framing them into the center of the picture. Khane had a peaceful smile on his face, and a cigarette in the other hand, that he held up to his mouth as he stared off into the sea.

"I defeat you art gods!" She whispered happily to herself.

With a smile, Erica set down her pencil and shut off her iPod. She was happy with the way the sketch had come out, and feeling that it was time to take a break, she flipped closed her sketchbook, and put her other rough sketches of Khane away. She reached back over for her bag, and slipped her supplies in it, then noticed the time. Khane was still in the shower, which, she was not too settled with the idea of. Different thoughts flashed through her mind of him drowning, or worse.

She pulled herself off the bed after zipping the bag back up, finished off the chocolate bar, then looked around the room. Careful not to step on any of the random weapons lying around, she reached down, and sifted through Khane's clothes before finding a not so dirty -as she had deemed-, oversized shirt, which she threw on over herself before walking over to the door of the bathroom. True, she hadn't known Khane that long, but most guys, who weren't absolute flamers. -and even they had their limits-, didn't take hour-long showers. Erica knocked tentiavely on the door. Waiting for a response, when she didn't get one, she opened the door and stepped in apprehensively. She spotted Khane in the tub, and sighed. She reached over and shut off the water, even though she couldn't see any signs of pruning.

"Khane? Dear?" She stepped in quietly, black-tipped toes roll-stepping, not to startle him with heavy steps, intead, she tip-toed over to him. She knelt by the now full tub and reached up to touch Khane's face, stroking her black and purple nails over it gently as she tried to wake him up. "Dearest? Khane?"

Khane's mind had stopped racing, and was now standing, panting slightly, in a well lit room. It wasn't by any means a difficult room. High arched ceilings, fresh breeze, pedestals, a perfect double of himself, tapestries, throw ru--

He stopped... what was that last one... Tapestries? no.. before that... he scanned back across the room and looked himself over. He had a perfect double, no wings, no halo, just him. He slanted his eyes, being very cautious of this one.

"Who are you?"

"I'm you"

"I know that, but which me?"

"Ah, yes, I'm a manifestation of your inner evil."

"Shouldn't you be... bigger?"

"How so?"

"I always expected that my manifestation of Inner Evil would be bigger than I am. Like after all those orphans I killed--"

"Orphans?"

The ground shook, and the manifestation tinted slightly red, growing elongated fangs and giving off a light red mist around his feet.

"Guess you didn't have that on file... it's ok.. what about the time I b***h slapped god right in the face?"

The ground shook a little more violently, the red tint turning into a full bore glow, and dark spiny tentacles growing out of his back.

"And the time I--"

"NO!! No more! I get it, your evil... we're evil... just stop... I might explode..."

Khane looked him square in the eye and though evil thoughts of watching him blow up. Apparently everything was added in real time... because the ground started to shake, and his manifestation of inner evil started to expand, eventually popping, and covering the entire room in a warm blanket of the red, red kroovy.

Meanwhile, he was still physically in the shower, mumbling slightly traced of his inner conversations in what looked to be a fitful sleep as Erica shook him and worried her hair gray.

Erica, who was not currently in the best of mindsets, proceded to overreact. She looked in the water, to make sure that she hadn't missed if it was deep red, or any other sort of odd color that would possibly explain his not waking up. Now, in her mad conquest to see if he had commited suicide, she failed to notice the fact that he was stirring in his sleep. She, then leaned over the tub, and put her head to his chest, hoping for some sign of life, which, luckily for her, there was a heartbeat.

She tried calling out his name a few times, then reaching over and shaking his shoulder. Both failed, which caused Erica's panic levels to increase, as well as her rapidly filling frustration levels. She rose, muttered a few swears in Khane's general direction, then decided to do what she would probably never have the chance to do again. After walking out of the room, down to Nny's room and grabbing a few freezies, meanwhile just wearing an oversized shirt, she walked back and plopped down next to the tub.

"So that you can never say I never said any of this.." She said with a smile and sipped one of the freezies. "I'm bi, I might be flirty with other guys or girls. I may be prone to frenzying now that im carrying a nine-month fetal parasite. If you ever see my eyes any color than red during this whole nine-month period, its either not me or I am wearing contacts. In my mortal life, I had two brothers, and a father. My mother was killed at her work, and my sister died of cancer. I was sired on my eighteenth birthday by a man who told me he was a vampire, and I didn't believe him. He had asked me if I wanted to be one, and I chuckled, and said 'sure, when I turn eighteen.' So, you can guess where I ended up. Nny came along later, and my sire had dumped him in my care, which is why we're both at the school. I already passed all my classes, and Nny was bored. I'm twenty-eight, and have been a vampire for ten years, I will never grow any older, and the only way to kill me is by standard methods. I can take a shitload of bullets before I am killed, or even disabled. I heal faster than any normal human, and I am overly passionate...I think? Not so sure about that one. But yeah, anyway, time to get you out of there isn't it?" She said as she put down the third empty freezie container in the trash, then set back to buisiness.

She stood, and stepped into the now cold water, and left one foot on the mostly dry floor for support. She leant forward and kissed the bridge of Khane's nose and whispered an apology before proceeding. She leant forward and wrapped her pale arms under his shoulders, and with a bit of strain, lifted Khane up out of the water. Goddamn he is heavy! Erica thought as she tried to get him out of the tub, and onto the bathroom floor. Well, she was able to get the oversized, out-cold, sex god out of the water, but getting him out of the tub gracefully was going to be another adventure all its own.

She turned, and luckily for her, it wasn't going to so much of an adventure as she thought it would be, she lost her footing, and thus, send her and Khane crashing onto the floor. Well, sort of. She sent Khane onto the hard, now-cracked tiled, floor, and she had let instinct kick in. When she felt them begin to fall, she pushed Khane down, which allowed her to jump deftly over him, and not hurt her stomach. Which, was really all it was. 'Protect the baby, protect the baby' coursed through her panicky mind until all was said and done. She looked down and squeaked as she jumped down to the floor where Khane was.

"I'm soooo sorry! Please don't be hurt, please don't be hurt!" She squeaked as she leaned over his head and looked down, trying to assess if he was injured or not.

Khane's eye's shot open. Normally these were eyes that were filled with the delightful joy of a child, as well as the psychotic killing urges the likes the universe has only thought up in it's deepest darkest nightmares, but now they were filled with mischief and malice, the likes of which greatly resembled everything the Norse god Loki represented. They looked Erica up and down, and Khane grinned. He reached out and gripped Erica's a** tightly.

"Khane's not in right now, but I'm sure that I can fill in for him. Would you like to guess my name?"

Meanwhile, Khane's consciousness was still mucking about in it's self. He kept running, and eventually came into a large room, teal walls, white linoleum floors, rows of florescent lighting and drywall tiles for a ceiling, and in this room, were filing cabinets... many thousands of filing cabinets. He walked by them, each one had a different designation. but there was a pattern. it was a letter, then a digit, starting with A1, then A2, and so on. He kept walking, eventually getting to B10. He stared at it, and decided to open it.

It slid open, and inside were a series of files. The first one, staring him in the face, was a name he hadn't heard in forever and a day. Biakowski, Jason. His face blanched as all the colour drained from it. He went to grab the file, and read it, but his hands were shaking terribly. He finally got a hold of it, and brought it up towards his face, one word escaping his trembling lips.

"Father..."

He broke down, hugging the folder to his chest and bawling like a little child. Whatever it was, it was linked to the one man who cared for him for any reason beyond money, the one man who never ever wanted to see him dead... his creator... his father.
