Hi, Haran-chan.

is not exactly a disability, but i think it counts as what you are asking in a way.
when i was younger i had a very bad accident that resulted in a metal plate[not sure if theres meant to be another spelling for the medical term?] in my skull. i do kendo..when i started my parents freaked out because they thought it might knock the metal plate outta place or something. but its been there since i was 3 [im 18 now]. they are still against me doing kendo but i wouldn't give it up
until i started doing kendo in bogu i was never really self aware of the bumpy part where it is[probably because i wasn't ever worried about it before to even feel it]
my parents made me tell everyone at the club about it [and for a while everyone hit me like way lighter than usual..]
that was 3 years ago now. um i wear like a padding between the tenagui and the mask[men] for protection though i do get headaches if i wear the men too long without being active[for some reason i don't feel it if im doing stuff].
i have had one or two times where wearing the men [while having to watch a demo so im not doing anything] has been painful.and i think that the metal plate may have been [over time] affected but i hope not or at least find a way to last till i someday become hachidan...
though the pain does worry me,and i have considered the options[like quiting]
sorry if thats a bit long..
and i see what you mean, its almost unfair for these things to happen[or have happened] to control or create choices you don't want to consider

Isn't this pretty much the same thing I started a little while back? Except nobody has made sh** about it, yet.

I posted in Jae's, but I'll do this too.
I was born with a deformed club foot.

I once had a 150 6'1" growth tat took me out of martial arts. After about 3 years it just kinda fell off then i got back into martial arts after a short recovery period laced with drugs and booze.

And yes i have a metal ankle i know exactly what you mean i cant wear socks or boots without a dull ache starting its from pressure against the screws belive it or not ^^' not much you can do about it. Metal wasnt meant to be in rods and plates in the human body what can you do eh?

I have a few things, but I've always just persevered.

I have muscular dystropy in my left thigh - this causes muscle wastage and means that leg isn't as strong/fast etc. I'm meant to be doing a lot of strength work to keep the muscle strong. Haven't done any in a while, that's probably why my second thing is playing up...

I have patello-femoral syndrome in both knees - this means my knee cartilage is slowly wasting away and my patella and femur occasionally rub against each other causing a lot of pain especially when doing anything along the lines of squatting, walking down hill and weight bearing on one leg.

Finally, this one doesn't affect me as much...

I have Gilbert's Syndrome - it's a condition where you're body produces too much bilirubin which can cause nausea, stomach pain, fatigue and jaundice. I've only had it play up really bad a few times at training, I've nearly fainted three times after training (one so bad that I had to lie down for 30 minutes before I felt better - I was kind of in and out of what was going on around me) and thrown up a couple of times. Hasn't played up in a while though.

But these are the doctors and physio explinations for things. I get told different things by different people, but these are the three most common ones that I get.

It's a pity no-one can figure out what to do for Haran, though.

Your muscles are breaking down? As in deteriorating? My god, thats a tough one to help. More info can help.
