Alright, this is my first attempt at first person writing, I have to say, I don't like it much, but I might as well learn to do it. ILR are the initials for the story Cyodie, Myself and a couple others are all working on. so this is just something a little different! Enjoy Kye! MEW!!

P.S. Yes, I am in this, and yes I do sing like a god....But I swear It doesn't go to my head! cool

Awesome. That was the only thing I could think as I read the
letter telling me that I had won two free tickets to the
upcoming concert where my favorite band, Lords of the Damned,
would be performing. And to make it better, not only did
I get two free tickets but I got to spend a night hanging
out with the band after the show! Holy Cow! I was so excited.
And I knew exactly who I was taking along.

"Oh my God! I can't believe you won!" exclaimed by best friend, Gabrielle, from the other end of the phone. "You get to go to the concert and party with them afterwards? I am soo jealous of you!" she sighed. "You know, I got TWO tickets AND I'm allowed to bring along someone else to party after the show" I hinted into the phone. "Who are you taking?" she asked, as if she didn't already know. "Well," I said, pretending to think about it. "There was that new guy at schoo-" "Of course I'll go with you! I'm so glad you asked!" she said, cutting me off."What time are we going?"

The night of the concert arrived and we were both dressed in our best skirts, both made up and looking entirely too nervous, or so we thought. The big guy at the door who was taking everyones tickets gave us a knowing look, as if he knew what we were there for. After showing him our tickets he redirected us through a separate door next to the main entrance, and sent an escort with us to show us the way to out contest seats. We both sat in a nerve wracking silence while everyone else vied for a position in the hall behind us. 'no way, I thought, 'there is no way that this is real. This is so awesome!' Finally, the lights dimmed, and everyone got real quiet for a moment before exploding into thunderous applause and screams as a deep, rumbling voice came over the speakers. "Who is Damned?" the voice asked. "US, US, US!" replied the whole concert hall. "And who," the voice asked, groaning sensuously into the microphone,"Are your Lords?" The whole hall screamed simultaneously, "YOU!YOU!YOU!" As if those were magic words, the stage burst into flame, and through the smoke the members of 'Lords of the Damned' materialized onto the stage. They were all there before me, just as if they were waiting for me to sample the eye candy that was them. The first one you could see was the youngest guy, Kurai, who came bounding out of the smoke milking the crowd for the cheers he couldn't seem to get enough of. A boyish gleam flashed in his eye, as if he was up to some mischief. He spun around a few times, letting his trademark trench coat flap in the heated air of the hall. His long hair flowed out behind him as he ran from end to end of the stage.Next was the oh-so-muscly Cyodie Centrawoven, but everyone who had ever
heard of him just called him Kye. He came strutting onto the stage looking utterly godly. His dark eyes, like the eyes of a predator, seemed to stretch out over the crowd, searching for a likely victim to seduce. Then came his girlfriend, Rinalla. She came trudging onto stage and laid a hot kiss on Kye's lips, marking her territory in front of every girl in the hall.
"What a buzz-kill!" I heard Gabrielle yell to me. They all picked up their instruments from stands that I knew were not there two seconds before. A drum set, complete with drummer, rose up through the floor in the back. There was James, the only one with a normal name in the entire band. With a quick look over the crowd, they quickly launched into the first song.
Kye and Kurai leaned back to back and began slamming out some truly amazing guitar riffs as Rinalla plucked at her bass.
Kurai leaned toward the mic and began singing.

Is this the price of forever?
I feel you slowing, never!
Fading away, into your memories.
Is this the price of heaven?
That you are always leavin'?
You really think that's fair to me!

'Okay,' I thought.'That does not even count as singing, he has a voice like an angel!' Kurai belted out the lyrics, groaning the words into the mic at specific points and eliciting equally vigorous groans from the members of the audience. "It's like he's making love to the microphone!" I yelled to Gabrielle. "Ali," she said, looking at me exasperatedly,"Who cares what he makes love to, as long as we get to listen?!" she asked. We both turned back to the stage and began yelling and screaming for the band. Kurai had made it almost to the end of the song, still sounding heavenly.

My redemption,
my reflection.
You'll never fade away.
Your salvation,
my damnation,
seeming to stop in place.
We never stopped to think that
we owe each other!

They finished the song with an echoing guitar riff that made everyone just stop screaming to listen for a moment. The beautiful chord screamed out across the silence and filled the hall. Kye continued slamming out that melodious riff for another thirty seconds while Rinalla's bass died out and Kurai just stood with his face slightly upturned, as if he was in rapture from absorbing the very heat of the chord that Kye pumped out of his guitar. Finally, the song ended and the concert hall erupted into thunderous applause and screams. Then something totally unexpected happened. Kye grabbed a mic and said "Can we get the contest winners up here please?" As we took the stage, we were both hissed and cheered simultaneously.
Kurai threw the crowd a look, as if to say "Behave, jealous children!" Of course, the "jealous children" part could have been my overactive imagination. Kye covered the mic with his hand and said to us "Would you like to help us with the next song?" I began blushing furiously, I didn't think my voice was anything to be proud of. Before I could say so though, Gabrielle chimed in. "Sure! We would love to!" and just like that they handed us a couple of mics and launched into the next song. Due to the fact
that there was a shortage of microphones we had to share with the band. And seeing as Rinalla wasn't in a particularly sharing mood just then, we ended up on either side of Kurai. He and Kye began laying out the guitar melodies and Rinalla shot the bass line out as if she was just tying her shoes. We both knew the lyrics to the song, it was our favorite.
I just wasn't sure my voice was gonna hold up. James picked up the beat and layed into the drums as if it was all he knew how to do. As Kurai wet his lips to sing, I mentally ran through the lyrics, just for reassurance. My mouth went dry as I failed at remembering any words. Horror struck, I turned to Gabrielle and asked frantically,"What are the words?!" She stared at me. As she opened her mouth to say something Kurai began belting out lyrics. 'Oh god, his voice was so sweet up close.'

I'm tired of being alone
(no, that's not what I'm here for,
I just wish you could...)
So maybe you could come over
(understand just how I feel.
Don't disregard...)
Spare me some time
(what I'm saying is this
really worth my words...)

we did our best to follow along with the words, but my mouth was dry the whole time as I tried to remember the lyrics. In the end, I lipsynched. After three agonizing minutes of being on stage, granted I got to be that close to the band, I hoped it would be over. But it wasn't. We stayed up there for the rest of the concert. Gabrielle sang along in every song, and was
even allowed to sing on her own at one point! And there was me, just standing there. God, it was so embarrassing. As the curtains closed on the stage I could hear all of the screaming fans filing out. I just stood there listening when Rinalla tapped me on the shoulder and motioned me to follow her while saying,"Come on then. Let's go!" The band made their way out
joking and watching as Kye and Kurai started rough housing. I yelped in suprise as I ended up on the ground beneath Kurai due to an over zealous throw from Kye. He quickly apologized as he tried to help me up. Things continued on this way, even when we got to the dressing room and they were all removing the stage make up and switching into more comfortable clothes.

DAMMIT GUYS! MAKE UP YOUR MINDS!!

I can't say whether I liked it or not. It seemed a little too much like talking than writing, I guess. neutral I liked the lyrics, though, and the idea of the story.

There's also the whole formatting thing, which made it kinda hard to read, I admit.
